Visibile If DataCard value

Hey,

I would like to create a visible function, if the data card values "xxx" then another datacard should be visible.

Like : if(ergebnis="Teilrückzahlung") then visible Summe Teilrückzahlung

Are there any solutions?

That's fine! I like being able to help with these sorts of things.

The control DataCardValue65 is the control, however it is a ComboBox control. It was a mistake on my part as I was inserting a dropdown without any form/data card. A combobox works slightly differently to a dropdown.

A combobox allows you to select multiple rows from your data (and also multiple columns) and therefore must be treated differently to a Dropdown control (which only allows selection of 1 row). This means the ComboBox.Selected is actually a table, with multiple columns and rows. Therefore, you have to extract the selected value like you would from a table or collection.

Assuming you have turned off Multiple Selections (The SelectMultiple property in the English studio), you can use the First() function:

First(DataCardValue65.Selected).ColumnName  = "Teilrückzahlung".

The only thing left is for you to fill in the column name for the value which you want to reference within your ComboBox control.

Hi @Anonymous,

This can be easily achieved by changing the Visible property of any component. This has to be on the component that you want to dynamically become visible/invisible.

You don't need to use an If statement if you are already performing some equality that would result in true or false.

So if you wanted DataCard2 to become visible when DataCard1.Text = "Show", set the Visible property of DataCard2 to

DataCard1.Text = "Show"

Hey.

that doesnt work

Can you provide any more details on what kind of controls you are using?

The DataCard control does not have a Text property so you would have to find the correct control, such as Label or TextInput to reference.

Can you also post the formula you are using to see why it may not work?

Is that enough? Or do you need extra information.

Thanks!

The issue here is that the DataCard control does not have a Text property. You can find the control within the data card - By the looks of it you need to reference the Dropdown control within the Ergebnis Data Card.

Something like Dropdown1.Selected.ColumnName = "Teilruckzahlung" should work.

The alternative is - assuming you have changed the Update property of the datacard to point to the dropdown, is to use the DataCard.Update property to reference the value of the Dropdown field.

Does this make more sense?

Makes more sense but I can't choose the expression in visible. There must be an easier solution or not 😄

In the image above, I have created a Label (Label1) which is only visible when the Dropdown value is 1. In the Visible property of the Label, I have a conditional statement which checks that the Dropdown value (Dropdown1.Selected.Value) = 1.

If you change from Dropdown1.Selected.Value to refer to your dropdown control name and whichever column name you want. For example, if the data source of my Dropdown had 2 columns - Value and ID - I could have the user select a Value in the dropdown, but still use the ID in the same row as that Value by referencing Dropdown1.Selected.lD, so I might want the Label to be visible when the selected ID is 10. If the Dropdown was within a DataCard (in a form or otherwise) I would still reference the Dropdown, not the DataCard.

Does this help?

First I have to say thank you for your effort.

There is no element which is called dropdown..
