OK, I found a related post you were working on with another community member, and it appears you are using the same method.

First, put only this code in the fill property of the button:

Switch(Value(gblClickCount),
1,Green,
2,Yellow,
3,SkyBlue,
4,Orange,
5,MediumPurple,
6,Red,
7,Transparent
)

Next, I assume you have a Sharepoint list named SafetyCross with two columns in it: A Title column, which contains strings, and a State Column which contains a number stored as a string (e.g. "2"). If this is not the case, let us know because the code might not work. There must also initially be a record with the Title "gblClickCount" and a State between 1 and 7.

In the OnSelect property of the button put:

Set(gblClickCount,LookUp(SafetyCross, Title="gblClickCount").State);
If(Value(gblClickCount)<8,
    Patch(SafetyCross,
        LookUp(SafetyCross, Title="gblClickCount"),
        {State: Value(gblClickCount)+1}
    ),
    Patch(SafetyCross,
        LookUp(SafetyCross, Title="gblClickCount"),
        {State: 1}
    )
);

Let us know how it works,

Bryan

It's difficult to understand what you are trying to do with this code - can you describe the purpose for us? Also, what property is this located in within your app?

The two statements aren't really connected at all. Here's what I see when I read them:

  • The If() statement uses a Lookup() to compare a value from SafetyCross to the string "<7". If it matches, the If() returns a value of string "+1", which is meaningless in this context
  • The Switch() checks the value of (a global variable?) gblClickCount to return some color descriptors. This gblClickCount cannot be the same as the one in the Filter() statement as that is used as a filtering string. This Switch could possibly work within a color property if the value of gblClickCount were set correctly

Whatever you want to do here, these two statements won't work together. Can you tell us more?

Oh, and please put this statement in the OnStart property of the app:

Set(gblClickCount,LookUp(SafetyCross, Title="gblClickCount").State);

Can you take a snapshot image of your Sharepoint list? I would like to see the column names and the records that it contains.

Also, did the button go through other colors before stopping on the black fill?

OK, press the New button for the list and add a single record. You will only need to do this one time.

For the Title put: gblClickCount

For the State put: 1

Then save the record and re-run your app.
