Why is it so hard to move datacards around a Form??

I have a blank form and I want to put some data cards on one line next to each other.  I can't seem to figure out how to move 3 datacards on one line.

Whats the trick?  Why can't we drag and drop the cards where we want them?

TIA,

Joe

I found the missing piece of the puzzle 🙂

Since I wanted to put 4 data cards on one line, I set the data form to have 4 columns and I kept the snap to columns off.

Its a shame I haven't found a way to default the font size, and everything come in as 21 (huge).  so after I rezie the cards I can get them all on one line.

Thanks all for the adivice,

Joe

sometimes works better to make their width something along the lines of parent.width/3 and manually set vetical position to 0, or if on second row vertical position to row1sitemheight+1

Hi @joef

Try turning snap to columns off on the form control and then moving your cards around

Nope does not help.  Still wont move.

I drag the card to the right side of the form and it goes right back to where it was.

I tried to change the x and y axis and just sits there as well.

This is SO F'n frustrating, I've been trying to create this app for 3 days, and can't make it a nice.

All I want to do is have 3 data cards on the same row.  then place 3 more on the next row...

Thanks again for the help.

Joe

Drives me crazy too.

A workaround that I found was to create a separate temporary screen with the data cards so you can copy and paste their properties. Then, on your form, create custom cards from the fields list. Then you can size the card the way you want and place the components inside where you want them. Once the components are in, copy their properties over from the temporary reference screen you created.

Not perfect, but this allowed me to arrange things the way I want just a little bit better.

I am not sure why you are having this issue, without seeing your form really.... but as you can see in the image below, of the form I just made now as an example, three datacards on one row is not an issue.

Have you checked the width of your data cards vs the width of the form to be sure they will all fit on the same row together?

Yeah I have no clue...

I found a workaround though.  I am adding data forms for each group of three cards.  Its a PITA but it works.

Thanks Again,

Joe

@joef

In the advanced part of the form control, change the X and the Y positions, depending on how many columns you want, you might have to resize the width of the datacards you go.

First row.

First datacard would be         X  0 Y  0

Second datacard would be    X  1 Y  0

Third datacard would be       X  2 Y  0

Fourth datacard would be     X  3 Y  0

Second row change the Y position to 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 etc.

Hope this helps
