Hello,
Summary
Basically, I am looking for a way to change the values of the DatePicker From and To so it auto filters and searches the items on the SharePoint list. It would be a convenient way for users to quickly access data based on Month to Date and Year to Date. I believe the logic here is sound.
I have set up the code logic in the following statement:
YTD Checkbox
OnSelect = When checkboxYTD is clicked 'on', set DatePickerFrom to January 1 of current year and DatePickerTo to Today()?// (Now()?)
and while checkboxYTD is 'on' or 'true?', DatePickerFrom and DatePickerTo cannot be changed // only option now is to unclick the checkbox to change the DatePickerFrom and DatePickerTo
and while checkboxYTD is 'on' or 'true?', checkboxMTD cannot be clicked 'on'
MTD Checkbox
OnSelect = When checkboxMTD is clicked 'on', set DatePickerFrom to Date(Year(Today()), Month(Today()),1) and DatePickerTo to Today?// (Now()?)
and while checkboxMTD is 'on' or 'true?', DatePickerFrom and DatePickerTo cannot be changed //only option now is to unclick the checkbox to change the DatePickerFrom and DatePickerTo
and while checkboxMTD is 'on' or 'true?', checkboxYTD cannot be clicked 'on'
Any assistance is greatly appreciated! 🙂

If you keep everything I sent before (but change the names of controls as you want them to be, this is inconsequential) and change only this make the default date of the FROM
If(IsBlank(pickStart), DateValue(Text(DateAdd(DateValue(Today()),-1,Months),"mm/")&"01/"&Text(DateAdd(DateValue(Today()),-1,Months),"yyyy")), pickStart)
and the to default date
If(IsBlank(pickStart), DateAdd(DateValue(Text(DateValue(Today()),"mm/")&"01/"&Text(DateAdd(DateValue(Today()),-1,Months),"yyyy")),-1,Days), Today())
This gives you a default calendar selection of first date of previous month, to last day of previous month when no checkboxes are marked
the entire year to date when ytd selected
and the month to date when mtd is selected
Take two date selecters. One named endPick, one named startPick
For startPick my default date will be
If(IsBlank(pickStart), Today(), pickStart)
For endPick my defualt day will be
Today()
below these i have 2 checkboxes, ytdBox, and mtdBox
mtdBox has a default of
mtdDefault
ytdBox has a default of
ytdDefault
mtdBox has an OnCheck of
UpdateContext({mtdDefault:true, ytdDefault:false, pickStart:DateValue(Month(Today())&"/01/"&Year(Today()))})
and an OnUncheck of
UpdateContext({mtdDefault:false, ytdDefault:false, pickStart:DateValue(Blank())})
ytdBox has an OnCheck of
UpdateContext({mtdDefault:false, ytdDefault:true, pickStart:DateValue("01/01/"&Year(Today()))})
and an OnUncheck of
UpdateContext({mtdDefault:false, ytdDefault:false, pickStart:DateValue(Blank())})
this changes start date to beginning of month or year, depending on box selected. And keeps both start and end as today if neither is selected, or either is unselected. At any time you can manually still select dates as well
Just noticed you want them unchangeable when a checkbox is selected, to do that just set their DisplayMiode to
If(mtdBox || ytdBox, DisplayMode.Disabled, DisplayMode.Edit)
I did not make the checkboxes unclickable if one is already clicked, isntead i made clicking the other change everything to it and deselect the first, and either can be deselected as well to reopen manual search. This was for greater user flexability. you can disable them though same way as above for the calendar disable
Hi @TheRobRush, thank you for the help so far.
In this case, I opted to keep the Date Picker names as such: FinanceDatePickerFrom and FinanceDatePickerTo, instead of using startPick and endPick.
The users asked for the defaultdate of FinanceDatePickerFrom "startPick" to be: Date(Year(Today()), Month(Today())-1,1) // first day of last month
They asked for the defaultdate of FinanceDatePickerTo "endPick" to be: DateAdd(Date(Year(Now()), Month(Now()), 1),-1,Days) // last day of last month
I changed the default values for the checkboxes accordingly to be mtdDefault and ytdDefault.
I changed the OnCheck of mtd to UpdateContext({mtdDefault:true, ytdDefault:false, FinanceDatePickerFrom:DateValue(Month(Today())&"/01/"&Year(Today()))})
I changed the OnCheck of ytd to UpdateContext({mtdDefault:false, ytdDefault:true, FinanceDatePickerFrom:DateValue("01/01/"&Year(Today()))})
I changed the OnUncheck of mtd to UpdateContext({mtdDefault:false, ytdDefault:false, pickStart:DateValue(Blank())})
I changed the OnUnheck of ytd to UpdateContext({mtdDefault:false, ytdDefault:false, pickStart:DateValue(Blank())})
The code is not functional, but I know we're not far off here.
If you keep everything I sent before (but change the names of controls as you want them to be, this is inconsequential) and change only this make the default date of the FROM
If(IsBlank(pickStart), DateValue(Text(DateAdd(DateValue(Today()),-1,Months),"mm/")&"01/"&Text(DateAdd(DateValue(Today()),-1,Months),"yyyy")), pickStart)
and the to default date
If(IsBlank(pickStart), DateAdd(DateValue(Text(DateValue(Today()),"mm/")&"01/"&Text(DateAdd(DateValue(Today()),-1,Months),"yyyy")),-1,Days), Today())
This gives you a default calendar selection of first date of previous month, to last day of previous month when no checkboxes are marked
the entire year to date when ytd selected
and the month to date when mtd is selected
