Zebra TC21 - Barcode Scanning

Hi there,

We are looking at using Zebra TC21 handheld devices to run our Power Apps on.

They have a built in barcode scanner (SE4710) which is activated by pressing a physical button on the side of the device. We are struggling to implement this with the barcode scanner feature available in Power Apps (it uses the camera on the back of the device).

Has anybody managed to get this working?

I do, could it be something to do with tab index on power apps page? I have them all set to -1 apart from textbox which is 1, is that correct?

If I set another item on page to tab index 2 the keyboard doesn't pop up but I am unable to scan again

Try an approach

have a  button hidden behind the rectangle ( don’t make the visible property off, just hide it behind the rectangle) above the textbox on the screen . Set the focus to that button on screen load and do scan , then on change event of the text box set the focus back to the hidden button

Hi everyone, I have a Zebra TC77 and I need to implement this solution. When I executed all this steps read only the first barcode but i need to read multiple barcodes and save it in a collection. Could you help me? Thanks.

Hi@ELIANAP , The same approach i mentioned should do the trick, as the focus is set back to the button again after the scan, you should be able to scan again.

To Add the barcodes to the collection, you can use the on change event of the textbox to add the barcodes to the collection.

Hi @sohilbhalla ,

I have tried your instruction about key event options, advanced data formatting and basic data formatting. When opening the app, I start scanning, the cursor have pointed to the right text box, but only the cursor and the key board shows up, it won't give the barcode value untill I scan twice. 

Please help to me.
