can't save powerapps project

I can not save my project changes since some weeks!

 

Until end of August 2018 it works fine.

But since beginnnig of Septemner every time I want to save my changes, I get a timeout message.

I tried it on several computers in several locations and internet connections.

All of them failed!

And I did not change my environment also.

All other Microsoft apps (e.G. Office 365, Sharepoint, ...) and other programs are normaly working at these internet connections, so it seems to be a specific powerapps problem.

 

Was there a change in the needed ports or other requirements to run powerapps since beginning of September 2018?

In my despair I tried it with the old IE - and within the IE it was possible to save my changes.

So this timeout and connection errors seems to be a browser incompatibilty problem.

But who on earth thinks about usint this old IE !?

Have you tried deleting your data sources and then adding them back in?  I have found that this sometimes solves the problem.

But I can't delete the data sources. When I select the "delete" context menu, nothing happens.

When I select the "update" menu for the data source, the same error "connection problem" occurs.

Hi @BJ,

It sounds like you have lost your connection to the platform holding your datasource.  Start by going to web.powerapps.com and click on Connections.  It should show you the status of each of your connectors.  One of my old ones shows a message "Can't sign in" Fix connection .  When I click on the Fix connection hyperlink it gives me advice as to what to do. If yours says that, I would try that.  Otherwise you can delete the connection by clicking on the "..." and the delete option. and then add it again as a new connector at the top left of the screen.  Then go back to Powerapps and add the data source again.  If that works, please mark this thread as solved.  If not, perhaps @v-xida-msft or Theo @tchin-nin can help.

I have only one connection to my sharepoint established and it showed "connected" and no erreor message.

I deleted this connection.

The I tried to edit the App and while loading the app the connection was created automatically again and the same problem occured.

The dada sources were still existing - it seems that the data sources were not deleted when I deleted the connection to the sharepoint.

I still can't delete the data sources (to reconnect it) and I can't save the app.

 

Annotations: When I use the connected sharepoint with the sharepoint web interface the sharepoint lists works fine, so it is not a problem of the sharepoint itself.

I also can load, use and edit the powerapps app. So my internet connection is also working.

Wow this is frustrating.  What happens when you recreate your app from SharePoint using the Modern interface and your primary list?  Unless one of the other advisors steps in, I don't know of any other alternative but to rebuild the app.NewApp.PNG

Yes it's frustrating.

I built a standard App from scatch as you proposed.

After 4 or 5 retires where ist does not work, but only shows me sime animated pictures (also frustrating), it finally built the basic App. 

But I did many changes and development work in my first APP and I can't remember all the steps and work.

So I wanted to view the code and copy the elements and code from the first APP.

But this isn't possible to copy elements directly from one app to another.

And I also can't do the adjustments of attributes and code manually, because in the first APP the attribute values and code (e.g. "OnSelect") are not displayed anymore (because of this "Connection Error"). Also some reloads and retries didn't help.

 

So in my eys this power app is unstable, frustrating, time wasting, banana software which the developer didn't test enough when they release it to the customer.

I understand your frustration.  Perhaps @Anonymous could take a look and suggest someone who might be able to help you.

Summer of Solutions | Week 4 Results | Winners will be posted on July 24th

We are excited to announce the Summer of Solutions Challenge!   This challenge is kicking off on Monday, June 17th and will run for (4) weeks.  The challenge is open to all Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio & Power Pages) community members. We invite you to participate in a quest to provide solutions in the Forums to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.    Entry Period: This Challenge will consist of four weekly Entry Periods as follows (each an “Entry Period”)   - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 17, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 23, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 24, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 30, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 1, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 7, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 8, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 14, 2024   Entries will be eligible for the Entry Period in which they are received and will not carryover to subsequent weekly entry periods.  You must enter into each weekly Entry Period separately.   How to Enter: We invite you to participate in a quest to provide "Accepted Solutions" to as many questions as you can.
