draw data from second table based on column value from first table

Dear Team,

I need to draw data / rows from second table based on the value of a column in first table.

Need to match if the value of a cell in first table is equal to the number of rows in the second table

eg: if first table has a value of 4, then the second table should have 4 rows.

I have inserted picture to help understand.

Requesting help from someone.

Hi,

You should be able to use "FILTER" to access the second table and filter as you with to get desired result in your gallery.

Do you mean you want to generate the Table B based on the Ucode and Submissions in Table A, right?

Please try this code, to see if it makes sense for your case.

ClearCollect(Col1,[1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10]);

thank you for your response v-Siky, and sparing some time to respond... 🙂

from the following table, James made a commitment of 4 submissions (first table), so, he should enter the details of 4 entries in the second table.

my job is to know, if James has entered all the four entries (as with every one else), as per the commitment they made in table 1.

so, I designed a gallery to display all the items entered into second table (as shown in the below picture) but my boss wants to display only those that are not met.  Can you please help.

What is the Items property of your first gallery. I assume you are using GroupBy for this and then displaying the “grouped” fields in the second nested gallery?

Dear Warren,

The following is the code for the Items Property in the gallery I am using:

SortByColumns(Search(Filter(FirstFile, "BUCode" = cBU), txtSearchInput_1.Text, "ValueAdd"), "Submissions", If(SortDescending1, Descending, Ascending))

Where BU is the Business Unit Code, "Value Add" is a concatenated column and auto-updated with formula in sharepoint to make the search easier and data is filtered from FirstFile with Region Code and the Region Code is picked up at StartUp with the help of UserName

I am using only one gallery and this gallery contains "Grey Box" which has the number of submissions from First File.

Now my requirement is, if the number given in "Submissions" in the first file is equal to the sum of total number of submissions in the second file, then it should display Zero, else it should display the difference., also, only those items, whose difference is <> 0 should be displayed. 

There is no possibility of submitting more submissions than that given in the first table, as I have put restrictions at data entry screen that, if the number of the sum of submissions in the second file is >= the number of submissions in the first file then the SAVE button becomes invisible.

 I now know this is not nested galleries, so forget my first question.
Are you simply wanting to count the number of entries in the second gallery and put it in this field?

CountRows(YourSecondTableName)

The difference is simply taking the required for this figure.
