error when save a dropdown result in table

Hello everyone. I have a dropdown control in power apps that fills from a sharepoint list, when the logged user has a certain condition. for example, if the authenticated user is in the accounting department, the dropdown control will only show the options related to accounting. if the user works in IT, the control will only show the options assigned to IT.

fill the control is not the problem. the problem is that, when saving the registry in another new list, it generates an error that says "an input is required or has an invalid value. Check and try again". this when I leave the Default property as "Parent.Default".

if I remove the Default property and leave it blank, the data in the list is not saved, and it leaves it blank.

how can i fill the dropdown control, and save the selected option in a new list?

Can you please supply the following (in Text)

• the Items of the drop-down
• is it a drop-down or Combo Box
• the Update of the Data Card
• the field name and type it is writing to

• the Items of the drop-down: Filter('Listas de tareas';Departamento=UsuariosdeOffice365.UserProfile(User().Email).Department).Tarea
• is it a drop-down or Combo Box: it's a dropdown
• the Update of the Data Card: Dropdown1.Selected
• the field name and type it is writing to: field "Tipo de tarea" and it's option type

the field and lists names are in spanish because i'm costarican

Hi @jdanielhdezr ,

What do you mean by "Option Type" - is this a Person field ? Try using this if you simply want to use Dropdown1.Selected

)

Hi @WarrenBelz. reading about the dropdown properties, i solved my problem by this way: in the field DataCard, into the Update property, i wrote "Dropdown1.SelectedText.Value" and works fine! the value property converts the selected item in text. Also, into the dropdown, in Default property, i left in blank.

I realize that if I use the properties of the fields correctly, I could the applications and the custom sharepoint list forms works as I need it
