help please, button to display gallery with selected field

Hi Guys,

being a littel powerApps practisioner, I would like to do something special in my app (IT Tool Library with each IT tool description) but how to do is a bit tricky.

I would like have a button (> on click , I navigate to another screen (which displays a filtered gallery)

please see image attached.

the problem is when i clicked on a button i can just use navigate option, but I would like to have 1 screen (named "Tool description") with a gallery, each time i click on a button, i navigate the same screen (named "Tool description"), and the gallery is updated based on filter;

Please advise.

as mentioned earlier, currently the button activates a popup for one particular tool , and I would like to have a button which filter the gallery, for one particular tool and in another screen..

I see. Thanks for sharing. I think what it comes down to is finding out how to drive the filter. You can drive that off of a selected tool in another screen as long as at some point the particular tool is selected. You'll do that just by using GalleryName.Selected in the Items property of your popup's gallery.

Since your interface is customized, I can't really give a specific answer as to what you should do. All I can say is that you'll need some logic that narrows your gallery down to the tool or tools you want to give detailed information on. Without going through your entire app's navigation I can't really tell you how that would work. Traditionally, you'd have a gallery of tools with a button (i.e. an Info icon) that you would click which would do something like Select(Parent) and then Navigate(DetailScreen). In your case, the interface looks like you have selected a tool before the point you showed me. Whichever point you selected a tool, that's what you need to use to drive the filter for your gallery or popup (wherever you want the info). For instance if you have an IT Tool gallery and you select one to see more info, you can use that gallery's Selected value as the filter. Such as

What do you want the second Gallery to filter off of?

You can have it filter off a selection in Gallery 1 as I mentioned before but you can do it off of other items selected too...you could have a drop down they select from that tells it what to filter for, a radio button, two or three different buttons and which ever they select tells it what to filter off of. It just depends on what you want that second gallery to filter off of but there are lot's of options.
