how to fix network error when using patch function: you don't have permission to create this row

APP is done and we are running a BETA test version.

Users have an issue with patching a new ITEM to the SP list.

Users have contribute (edit ITEMS)

 

permission and List advance settings are also ok.

Why they get an error ?

@WarrenBelz when I use the patch it works. only users have issues and network failure.

I tried  the for all inside the patch as mentioned by @iAm_ManCat , but it didnt work. so i played arround and put the forall before the patch. it works for me but still not for the user.

It will be a list permissions issue then. The Patch > ForAll should work except you do not need Defaults() with this structure.

That is what I dont get. Patch works fine for me, with or without "defaults".

only users get the network permission error.

Users have the contribute rights , so it should work, but it doesnt.

@BCBuizer I used Monitor already in the past for performance issues. Its a great tool. But can I use it somehow to monitor user activities ? because the issue is only when the user is using the patch. Also the user got already the message that he dont have the rights to create that row. So it might be user rights issue. which i dont get because users have list permissions contribute for that list. there are no lookups or anything else.

Whenever there is a disparity between the outcomes from different users, it is in my experience always something relating to permissions.

Also regarding the structure, ForAll() is not designed to be a Loop, although it can work this way with considerable performance penalty as it does an individual Patch for each record. ForAll() creates a Table, which can be patched in one action provided its content is correct. For new records, this is simply a Table with field names and field types matching the list.

@WarrenBelz so we can say that power app itself works fine. Issue is with SP and permissions. But i dont know which issue I have.

Is that the only list connected to the app and can the user write directly to it in SharePoint ?

I have 10 lists connected to the app. 3 of them are contribute set for the user.

2 of them are with patch ( which doesnt work) , 1 is by form which works.

I never tried direct via SP, because useres should only use the app.

I cannot really eliminate anything until the affected user/s try to post directly in SharePoint. Also do the users have access to all lists connected to the app ? If not, give them temporary permission and see if that fixes the issue. You can then hopefully see the offending item.

i got it fixed. It was a share point permission issue.

Users are in sharepoint as MEMBER. But for some reason inside the Member settings the group of members were missing.

So they where running in sharepoint as Visitor.

I found that with checking direct user name permission, and saw that nothing was mentioned as MEMBER.
