how to hide share button in a model-driven app

I would like to hide or disable the share button that is recently added to all model-driven app.

sharebutton.jpg

I was trying to use the ribbon workbench ( https://www.develop1.net/public/rwb/ribbonworkbench.aspx )but this button is not in there for me to edit. A customized javascript code with id ="collaborationShareButton" is a way to hide this button? I also looked at environment settings but there is no on/off option for this button.  I did try to tinker security role tables where I unmarked sharing column related the tables. It looks like that this button is from the new update released recently.

thanks

Hello @powerapps_2021

Do you have access to the Command designer so you can modify properties for command icons?

More info on the Command Bars:

I tried the command designer via "edit command bar" menu.

main.jpg

since the share button is on the main form edit mode, I selected "main form" and then

legacy-no.jpg

as you can see above, there is no "share" button, and all other buttons are not editable. There is "share button" on Associated view but that's not the share button I want to hide. And I think that button is also not editable.

  • Pre-existing classic commands can't be customized within the command designer until they're migrated to the modern infrastructure. This includes the out-of-the-box commands, which will be migrated incrementally over time. You may continue to use other mechanisms and third-party tools for customizing classic commands."

Any suggestion?

Thank you!

Hi where do you enter that code in the command designer?  I'm trying to hide the share button in the form as well.

Hi @powerapps_2021

Where did u add this comment ?

Did u find a solution to hide Share button in model driven appa

@powerapps_2021 Hi, Did it work for you?  I was trying the same using javascript. But it's not hiding when the page loads, it throws an error saying. Cannot read properties of null (reading 'style'). Seems the share button control is not loading on form load and the Id is kept changing ex: collaborationShareButton_1. After the page refresh it works but not on the page load.

Thank you, please share the solution which is working for you.

For me was that working. The problem was that MS changes the numbers random so I check 100 numbers two times

this.removeShareButtons = (eContext) => {
    for (let i = 0; i < 100; i++) {
        if (!!window.top.document.getElementById("collaborationShareButton_" + i)) {
            window.top.document.getElementById("collaborationShareButton_" + i).style.display = 'none';
            return;
        }
    }
}

this.addFormDataOnLoad = (eContext) => {
    let formContext = eContext.getFormContext();
    formContext.ui.addOnLoad(Fyn_Basic_Functions.removeShareButtons);
    setTimeout(() => {
        Fyn_Basic_Functions.removeShareButtons(eContext);
    }, 1000);
}
