insert a new row with previous row details copy functionality in canvas app gallery

Hi community team,

I have requirement  insert a new row with previous row data. which means copy a gallery row and make a new row in gallery.

Gallery datasource is collection.

 I used below code when select copy icon a blank row is added to gallery but requirement is add row with copied values.

App onstart= clearcollect(newrow,{Date:"",Project:"",Time:"",Remarks:""}

Copy icon onselect=

collect(newrow,

{

    Date:Gallery1.selected.datepicker3.selectedDate,

    Project:Gallery1.selected.Dropdown1.seleted.Value,

    Time:Gallery1.selected.Textinpu1.Text,

     Remarks:Gallery1.selected.Textinput2.Text

})

Please help correct code for thisone.

Hi @Powerappsuser11,

When the copy icon is within the gallery (on each row) we can actually leverage the native 'ThisItem' reference:

collect(
    newrow,
    ThisItem
)

By using above formula able to add a empty row but requirement is add copied data row.

Please help for thisone.

I think is what your looking for:

copy Icon.Onselect: 

Collect(
newrow,
Gallery1.Selected
)

 This will copy the selected record in the gallery and make a copy of it.

 My requirement is copy gallery row and make a new row with copied values.

onselect of copy icon able to add blank row but add a copied row.

Hi @Powerappsuser11,

This worked for me: 

Please use the code on the copy icon.OnSelect:

Collect(
    newrow,
        {
            Date: TextInput1_1.Text,
            Project: TextInput1_2.Text,
            Time: TextInput1.Text,
            Remarks: TextInput1_3.Text,
        }
)

And then you have to change the Default of the input fields:

TextInput1.Default = ThisItem.Time
TextInput1_1.Default = ThisItem.Date
TextInput1_2.Default = ThisItem.Project
TextInput1_3.Default = ThisItem.Remarks
