is it possible to reference a Choice Lookup with a string

I need to dynamically set the Items property of a drop down to various Choice groups i have set up depending on another variable.  So if I have the name of the Choice as a string and i want to use in the Items for the drop down, is there some way to link the drop down to the Choice using a string with the name of the Choice ?  Maybe a lookup to the Choices ?

I am not sure exactly what you mean here (as the source of the drop-down Items). The easiest way is to make a Collection or a Record Variable containing the items required and use that in the drop-down.

Not 100% sure what you mean, but maybe you can try using a Switch of If statement to set the items on the dropdown to the desired Choices, thinking of something like this:

Switch(
    <YOUR VARIABLE HOLDING THE STRING>,
    "<MATCHING STRING 1>",
    Choices(<MATCHING STRING 1>),
    "<MATCHING STRING 2>",
    Choices(<MATCHING STRING 2>),
)

Ofc replace everything with your data.
Hope that's atleast give you a hint in the right direction 🙂

Thanks for the suggestions, they are both good options.  I will try to explain better - I have 1 drop down in a Canvas app, and depending on what a user selects in another control, I want to switch the Items list of the DropDown based on string variable.  So if the string provided is "DocStatusChoices", then load the Dropdown with this list of Choices(DocStatusChoices).  If the string is set to "DocRevChoices", then load the Dropdown list with Choices.(DocRevChoices).

I was using the Switch as suggested by @Devvj however, new Choice groups are added and then I need to update the app code.  So this is why is was hoping there was a way to use the String to directly load the choices with the same name.

The Items of a drop-down/combo box is a Table (as is Choices(ListName.FieldName). How exactly are you going to format the String Variable ? If comma delimited, then you can use 

Split(
   YourString,
   ","
)

which will produce a Table with one field called Value. You could make the target string conditional if this is what you are meaning.
