Hi All. I have a SharePoint integrated form that uses a managed metadata field that needs to be multiselect. This scenario does not call for a canvas app and would not be ideal. The library is for uploading resource documents that get tagged with one or many terms from the managed metadata field. If the managed metadata field value contains "Event" then make Event Date field visible, else hide it. The multiselect managed metadata field is NOT allowing for more than one choice even though it is set to allow for this scenario in the List Settings. Is there something that will get this to work that I have not come across in my research?
Also, when hitting the innate Save button, it does not save or submit the form. The OnSave property is set to:
SubmitForm(SharePointForm1)
and the OnSuccess property is set to:
Refresh(TestResources); ResetForm(SharePointForm1); RequestHide()
Any assistance would be very appreciated. Thank you in advance.
Hi @IntraAdmin
Onselect of the save button. Try the below code to see whether a form is valid or not.
If(
SharePointForm1.Valid,
SubmitForm(SharePointForm1),
Notify("Form is not valid")
);
OnFailure of the Form set to
Notify(
Concat(
Errors(SPDataSOurce),
Column & ": " & Message
),
NotificationType.Error
)
@StalinPonnusamy Thank you for your feedback. This is not a canvas app therefore the managed metadata field pulled in as a custom card which is different from the combo box format in a canvas app. I was able to find the select multiple option, though. It is not displayed as a toggle in this case:
@RandyHayes @Pstork1 @WarrenBelz @StalinPonnusamy This is a SharePoint list form not a canvas app which is typically my go to. I am not very well versed in the custom SharePoint list forms. The OnSave should have worked without me making any changes. This is what I have so far, though, and it will not save:
SharePoint Integration.OnSave:
SubmitForm(SharePointForm1)
SharePointForm1.OnSuccess:
ResetForm(SharePointForm1); RequestHide()
SharePointForm1.OnFailure:
Notify(
Concat(
Errors(TestResources),
Column & ": " & Message
),
NotificationType.Error
)
On clicking the Save button the data does not submit to the data source (list), the form resets and gives an unknow error. NOTE: The Key Terms field is a multiselect managed metadata field.
Hi
I created a metadata column and created a customized form to test your scenario. All works fine.
Can you check the Update property of the Data card? It should be set to
ComboboxName.SelectedItems
Few troubleshooting items:
1. Is the form saves when you remove the metadata Datacard?
2. Is the form is Valid?
If(
SharePointForm1.Valid,
SubmitForm(SharePointForm1),
Notify("Form is not valid")
);
3. What Taxnomoy you have. The below I tested it. Please let me know yours, I will set it up and test it
@StalinPonnusamy Thank you, again. I removed the KeyTermsData card then added it back. I am still getting the An unknown error has occurred. The Notify message in the OnSave property of the SharePoint Integration is not doing anything. This is a document library but in SharePoint world that is a list.
OnSave:
f(
SharePointForm1.Valid,
SubmitForm(SharePointForm1),
Notify("Form is not valid")
)
KeyTermsDataCard.Update
KeyTermsDataCardValue.SelectedItems
KeyTermsDataCard.Default )
Choices([@TestResources].KeyTerms)
The taxonomy is a term set:
@StalinPonnusamy I created a new library and recreated the form. It works so apparently there was some sort of issue with the library or the form creation itself. I knew that this was a short and sweet form so I wasn't sure why the problem. Thank you for your help.
