new look for Power Apps

We recently launched a preview of the new look for model driven app Power Apps. Details here As you try out the preview, please tell us what you think.  In the coming weeks we'll be talking more about how modern controls, using the Microsoft Fluent design system, will be coming to canvas apps, theming is also on the horizon (about time!).  We're keen to hear people's thoughts and feedback on all those topics here.

Hello, I tried using the Modern Control Theme.

The selected theme is being applied to all modern controls except the Date Picker.

Love the design of the new modern controls. One thing about the text input control is that it times out after a few seconds, even if the DelayOutput option is true, making it potentially frustrating to end users.

An issue with the date time picker.

The date time picker control fails to load in the new look and feel

Another issue with the date time picker.

In Dynamics 365 App, the date picker have no background color so we can see forms item below.

Hello there,

 

I have noticed some weird behavior of the modern control combobox. It seems to be ignoring the data row limit in the settings.

Even though I have set data row limit to 1000 records -> it is still fetching 500 rows (as is Power App default).

The new look and feel is great!

 

However, I am experiencing the following issue after turning the preview on:

It seems the calendar view is transparent.

Could this be a result of the new look and feel?

We display the Created on and Modified On dates on our forms in a model driven app, we've found that with the new UI the time only displays if the minutes are 00 or 30, else the time control doesn't load:

I think most people will use these controls in a form kind of situation. Unfortunately Microsoft has not released any insights on when this happens. So I therefore manually changed the controls in a classic form, but unfortunately had to stop since I noticed that the new controls have no support for 'tab index'. And for big forms that's absolutely necessary for a good UX.

Will there be Number Input control?

 

A lot of the fields that I work with are numeric, and a slider control just isn't going to cut it.

 

The Text Input control does not have an option (that I can see) for a Format for Number, similar to the classic control.

Hi @benapple,

 

Thank you for gathering feedback.  I noticed some missing functionality under the New Look within the Dynamics 365 Customer Insights - Journeys app last night and as I'm using a Trial licence from pre-1st September (the reason the images below show it as the Marketing app) Marketeers from within the LinkedIn community have kindly verified that they're seeing the same.

 

If you go to Outbound marketing > Marketing content > Personalized pages.

 

When we have the 'New look' toggle on and select the 'New personalized page field' button next to the Fields table heading in order to add a new field to the allow list, no drop-down list appears next to the Name field.

I provided feedback through the form Microsoft provide when you toggle the 'New look' off last night, but have been advised to report the issue here as well.

Summer of Solutions | Week 4 Results | Winners will be posted on July 24th

We are excited to announce the Summer of Solutions Challenge!   This challenge is kicking off on Monday, June 17th and will run for (4) weeks.  The challenge is open to all Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio & Power Pages) community members. We invite you to participate in a quest to provide solutions in the Forums to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.    Entry Period: This Challenge will consist of four weekly Entry Periods as follows (each an “Entry Period”)   - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 17, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 23, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 24, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 30, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 1, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 7, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 8, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 14, 2024   Entries will be eligible for the Entry Period in which they are received and will not carryover to subsequent weekly entry periods.  You must enter into each weekly Entry Period separately.   How to Enter: We invite you to participate in a quest to provide "Accepted Solutions" to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities. Users must provide a solution which can be an “Accepted Solution” in the Forums in all of the communities and there are no limits to the number of “Accepted Solutions” that a member can provide for entries in this challenge, but each entry must be substantially unique and different.    Winner Selection and Prizes: At the end of each week, we will list the top ten (10) Community users which will consist of: 5 Community Members & 5 Super Users and they will advance to the final drawing. We will post each week in the News & Announcements the top 10 Solution providers.  At the end of the challenge, we will add all of the top 10 weekly names and enter them into a random drawing.  Then we will randomly select ten (10) winners (5 Community Members & 5 Super Users) from among all eligible entrants received across all weekly Entry Periods to receive the prize listed below.
