We recently launched a preview of the new look for model driven app Power Apps. Details here. As you try out the preview, please tell us what you think. In the coming weeks we'll be talking more about how modern controls, using the Microsoft Fluent design system, will be coming to canvas apps, theming is also on the horizon (about time!). We're keen to hear people's thoughts and feedback on all those topics here.
Many thanks
Ben
Hi team, please allow me to report an issue on New look
With the disabled new look, I can edit filter and "Save changes to current view": Image 1.
Image 1
For the new look, I confirmed the missing functionality (Image 2).
Image 2
Issue can be reproduced in OOB
We have confirmed that even when the switch is set to OFF, the device switches to a new mode on its own.
For these reasons, we would like to confirm two points.
(1) The procedure to physically hide the switch.
(2) Complete deactivation of the switch (so that it does not switch by itself)
I agree, this is a very important function that we will miss in the new "look & feel". I really hope that this function will come back
I'm seeing the same sort of behavior - specifically in Activities, where even if I've made a change to a column size, it doesn't give me the option to save as a new view (activities, tasks, etc.).
I've also tried to turn off the new look for two of our model driven apps, but that setting is not under Features where the documentation says it is. There is "try the new look and feel (preview)" under Upcoming, but that is called out as a different item that just the new look.
In the old look, the text in the forms is bold, which helps offset it from the labels. In the new look, it's all the same color with some light gray background on the fields, which, frankly, is hard to see and read on my screen.
When the new look is enabled, does it abide by the settings on the Power Apps Grid Control? In my testing, it doesn't appear to - we have pagination enabled, but when I try the new look, it does infinite scrolling in the related records. Perhaps we're missing a setting?
I agree with others that gray typically means you can't enter anything into the field, so that is a bit confusing as well.
Over all changes are welcome
- The 'Quick Find' feature is not functioning.
- While I understand that pagination has been removed, the 'Select All' option is crucial, especially when applying custom filters for bulk operations.
-The total record count is absent, which is vital for displaying the number of records.
I agree the "Select all" functionality on views being missing is a big one. A lot of our user flows utilize this functionality to bulk-process using Ribbon buttons.
Hi @benapple
I've started using the New Look to Dynamics Sales and they have noticed an issue.
We make extensive use of the blue ‘+’ so that users can save a record without all mandatory data having to be present. (Dataverse table > Column > Required > Business recommended = Blue ‘+’ tick on field)
Testing this in my environment I noticed the issue, it seems that the blue ‘+’ is being retired. Is this correct?
How long can they stay on the old look since they need this functionality?
Or is there a way to reinstate the blue ‘+’ functionality?
Adding screenshot for reference
i see that the display of sharepoint files do not display with the new look.
more so that its the embeded app that we have some functionality with sharepoint display etc but the result is this
without "new look"
with "new look"
Hi @benapple , I like the modern controls design. One reason I cannot use them yet is I didn't find the way how to set up custom theme, what I need almost all the time for customers with design manuals. I've tried to create the same theme record as default themes have, but modern controls don't apply it.
Will be possible in a future to create the custom theme in a way like bellow? Or some other way?
It would be great.
Thanks.
Set(mainColorHexa, "#007cca");
Set(mainColor, ColorValue(mainColorHexa));
Set(myTheme,
