Curious to see if any solution was found in the meantime using SharePoint. Facing the same situation here. Currently cannot move the video repository to a different location. Any tips welcome. Thanks!

Hi @bo1000car ,

The solution lies with Microsoft allowing the current user login to access URLs in SharePoint and Stream on mobile devices (I still use YouTube on all my videos)

Hi folks, I'm just seeking to promote this.  Our tenancy is being advised to push our video streaming from Azure Stream to ODSP, but at the same time this seems to prevent our PowerApps from being able to display videos, so it would be great if MS could un-square this particular circle.

Does anyone know if there is an existing Ideas, Development post or Bugfix request on this that we could add our interest to?

Hi! We found that using the direct SharePoint video url with a question mark at the end allowed desktop and mobile users to see the PowerApps video. Example we used the URL: "https://sharepoint.com/:v:/r/teams/DEMO/SiteAssets/SitePages/test-video.mov?"

@WarrenBelz I know this is old, but I am having this issue and wondering what you meant by  resolves URLs anonymously".  Can you explain in more detail.  It's really strange because I can run and see all the videos, which are run by clicking on a button and then it goes to a new screen where the Video Power Apps object is used to show the video.  The source of the video is SharePoint, but as it is a public SP Site and all the Video files have been shared with everyone in the organization I am at a loss as to why it behaves differently depending on the user.  Even to the degree that some users can see one video but not others.  The other odd thing is that users can take the url for the video on SP and put it a browser and it works fine (this works for all users).  In addition, sometimes when a user does this first, it appears to open a door to the SharePoint in that if they run the app after doing this they can watch videos.

Any guidance is greatly appreciated.  At this point my recommendation is to try using OneDrive instead of SP for the source of the files, but I would like your ideas on this if you have time to share.  Thank you so much!

@subsguts .

My comments referred to images in an Image control although I still use YouTube for videos. Regarding your question, I believe OneDrive is better as you can reference "anyone with a link".
To try to explain the image issue simply, when an image based on a SharePoint URL (or any URL requiring authentication) is required to be resolved in an app on a PC in a browser, the first thing that is checked is whether the user has a valid connection to that particular site and content. The user will generally be also logged into SharePoint in the browser cache, so all is well (whatever the mechanics here, it simply works).

A mobile app sends the URL "out into the wild" to see what comes back. If any authentication is required, it will be nothing. The app (currently) does not have the capacity to log in to a site simply because a control wants to display something and even if logged into SharePoint on an app or browser on the device, it cannot "see" anything else going on outside the app (or does not look ?).
