pulling up multi select drop down data into app

Hi,

 

I have a multi-select drop down with this formula in the Item property:

ForAll(
Filter(Contacts,drpBillToClient.Selected.Value in Clients.Value),
{Value: 'Full Name',
Id:ID
}

I set a variable in Galerry to ThisItem. what I want to do is that when I select an item from Gallery it automatically pulls up the related data for my dropdown.

 

I used this formula for non multi-select drop down in my app and it is working :

 

If(IsBlank(gblSelectedRequest) = false ,gblSelectedRequest.'Sub Project Of'.Value)

 

but I don't know how to write it for the multi-select drop down.

So the signature of your Items records is Value and Id - just what is needed for lookups.

Now, since the original record has a table of records with Value and Id, then the DefaultSelectedItems on that combobox should only need to be that record column - gblSelectedRequest.'Team Project Type'

If it is a multi-value lookup column, then it will also be a table with Value and Id records - so it will match and you should get the records selected in the combobox.

And - this is in the DefaultSelectedItems property.  The Default property on the combobox does nothing.

 

Let's see where that gets you.

Your non multi-select formula can be changed to the following:

gblSelectedRequest.'Sub Project Of'.Value

There's no need to check if it is blank, since the result of your formula would be blank if it was blank anyway!

 

For your multi-select, the following formulas will give you what you want:

If(CountRows(yourCombobox.SelectedItems)=0, "nothing selected")

If you want to display the values, then the following will give you a comma separated string:

If(CountRows(yourCombobox.SelectedItems)=0, 
    "nothing selected", 
    Concat(yourCombobox.SelectedItems, Value & ", ")
)

Don't want the trailing comma...then the following:

If(CountRows(yourCombobox.SelectedItems)=0, 
    "nothing selected", 
    With({l: Concat(yourCombobox.SelectedItems, Value & ", "), Left(l, Len(l)-2))
)

I changed the formula for drop down.

 

I have a list in SharePoint for project request. I want to add project in another sharepoint list based on this request. most of the columns are same. when i choose the title of the project from the request list ( by the aid of gallery) I want to pull up other information from the list and show in the app. I did for all of them but I have a combo box with multi-select values and I want to show the data in the combo box.

 

So like dropdown formula (gblSelectedRequest.'Team Project Type'.Value) i need same for combo box. (maybe need ForAll function)

I dont want to show me any message or show as comma separated , just show the data in combo box on the app

This is more helpful as your original post did not mention the primary use of the expected results.

 

What is key in comboboxes is that the DefaultSelectedItems must match the schema and values from the Items property.

You seem to be putting the original formula in the Items property.  Is it not that you want the normal items in the combobox and to have the items that are in the original record to be selected in the duplicate that you are showing?

Sorry for the confusion.

 

Actually, when we want to add a project there are 2 options. the first option is that we want to add a project without request. so in that case everything should be chosen from drop downs, combo boxes,.... 

and when we choose a client a sponser( multi select combobox) should be populated automatically.

the second option is that we choose a title from Gallery that links to the project request list. In this case every thing should be populated from that list.

 

I have this formula in the item property of multi select combo box:

ForAll(
Filter(Contacts,
drpClients.Selected.Value in Associated_x0020_Clients.Value),

{Value: 'Full Name',
Id:ID
}

and I want to write a formula in the default property of the combo box to populate data when we have already had a  request

Then your combobox is not set to be multi-select.  Check that it is.

Summer of Solutions | Week 4 Results | Winners will be posted on July 24th

We are excited to announce the Summer of Solutions Challenge!   This challenge is kicking off on Monday, June 17th and will run for (4) weeks.  The challenge is open to all Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio & Power Pages) community members. We invite you to participate in a quest to provide solutions in the Forums to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.    Entry Period: This Challenge will consist of four weekly Entry Periods as follows (each an “Entry Period”)   - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 17, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 23, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 24, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 30, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 1, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 7, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 8, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 14, 2024   Entries will be eligible for the Entry Period in which they are received and will not carryover to subsequent weekly entry periods.  You must enter into each weekly Entry Period separately.   How to Enter: We invite you to participate in a quest to provide "Accepted Solutions" to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.
