"Allowed Value" dropdown default in Edit Form (based on collection)

Hello,

I wonder if someone can help me get the right formula for my dropdown.  What is confusing me is that the “Default” value appearing in the RHS property menu is correct, but it’s not appearing in my dropdown.

The field was originally a text column which I have converted to an “allowed values” dropdown (as I have done with many of my other apps).

Staff create “Objectives” in a separate list called “Self Development Plan”.  I then want to allow them to select their “Objectives” when creating other list items (such as course requests etc).  For my “New Form” screen, this all works fine.  I am struggling with my “Edit Form” screen.  To confirm, I know these don’t need to be separate screens but this is how I like to work.

Please see below various formula used on my “Edit Form” screen.

On Visible (gather collection of objective choices from the “Self Development Plan” list):	ClearCollect(collectobjectives, {Objective: ""}); Collect(collectobjectives, SortByColumns(Filter(SelfDevelopmentPlan, 'Created By'.Email=varReviewee), "Title", SortOrder.Ascending))
Card (Default):	ThisItem.Objective
Card (Update):	DataCardValue43_1.Selected.Objective (this is the dropdown)
Dropdown (Default):	Parent.Default
Dropdown (Items):	collectobjectives

Hey @rachel_bisland ,

I can't find anything wrong with your code. especially since in default it is showing what should be appearing inside your dropdown.

So i think it is a bug. Could you test to remove the code from default to check if you are able to see anything then?

 What happens if you try to select another value from the dropdown, is it still "Empty"

Thanks for your help - I think I have resolved the issue (partly).

I have removed the clearcollect from the onvisible property and added to the gallery screen a step before.

Everything else worked fine, and I have carried out this sort of step many times before - but direct to sharepoint list as a datasource and not a collection.
