I have a powerapp that have two datasources.
1. sharepointlist called InventMain
2. sharepointlist called InventTags
I then have a gallery (gallery1) on a screen that contain data from datasource InventMain.
In gallery1 i have a nested gallery (sub gallery) called gallery2 that have data from datasource InventTags
Outside of both galleries i have a textinput.
My issue now is that i want to search for items that are displayed in the sub-gallery (gallery2).
I can create a search function for gallery1 by putting this code in ITEM function in gallery1.
Filter(InventeringMain;TextInput1.Text in Kategori Or TextInput1.Text in Enhetsnamn Or TextInput1.Text in Rubrik))
This works fine and if i type data in TextInput1 i get results from gallery1 (filter gallery on what i type).
But my goal now is to create a way to search for items in the nested galleries, how can i do this?
Anyone got any tips on how to search in a nested gallery or rather filter...
Hi @Oskarkuus ,
You just need to filter that by the contents of the text box. so
Filter(
InventTags;
TextInputx.Text in Field1 ||
TextInputx.Text in Field2 ||
TextInputx.Text in Field3
)

Yes that kind of works.
But at the same time i just want to show the posts in gallery1 that actually have that filtered posts in gallery2.
So if my gallery looks like this
ROW1: Data from gallery1
SubGallery: Data from gallery2
Row2: Data from gallery1
SubGallery: Data from gallery2
And i type some text in a textInput and search for something that only exist in "data from gallery2 from Row2".
I just want to see row2 and not row1 anymore....)
Just like when i filter gallery1 i can search gallery1 and all other results dissiperar...
if that makes any sense 😛
OK @Oskarkuus,
What is the Items property of Gallery2?
Also, what is the size of your data set as In is not a delegable filter
Screenshot: https://prnt.sc/r9nd4l
a = search textinput
a = search button, when pressed set variable to:
Set(varFilterGallery;Filter(InventeringMain;TextInput1.Text in Kategori Or TextInput1.Text in Enhetsnamn Or TextInput1.Text in Rubrik))
b = data from datasource 1 in gallery 1
c = data from datasource 2 in gallery 2
gallery 1 ITEM function
gallery 2 ITEM function
if i press button called VISA/DÖLJ (on picture 1)
Then the gallery 2 expands and shows the data that is connected to that row (relationship between datasource1 and datasource2).
This is done with this code in hight function in gallery 2
If(ThisItem.Rubrik = Gallery4.Selected.Rubrik;CountA(Gallery5.AllItems.Rubrik)*44+0;0)
so the idea is to be able to filter gallery 1 to only show the rows that contain a searchvalue in gallery 2.
example: searching for "Food"
expected result: show rows in gallery 1 that have data in gallery2 that contain "food"
Hi @Oskarkuus I cannot test this (and have never tried it), but I am hoping your Variable filtering the first gallery will contain the required matching number in the data set.
Filter(
InventeringTaggarjEnhetsID.Value = varEnhetsID &&
VarFilterGallery.<matching item> = varEnhetsID
)
Please try this - I will ask for other opinions if this does not work.

I get an error about invalid argument
But i am on to another solution i think....
I added a column in datasource1 called "tags"
When i save data to datasource2 i also in an invisible form save the same data to that column in datasource1 in a string
using the concat function to print all data in a string with a ; to separate each thing. Then i can have a invisible field with this data in gallery1 and search that string instead.
Not sure what problems this might inflict.... not tested it yet fully.
Yep this seems to have solved it 🙂
Thanks for your help!
Good to hear @Oskarkuus - dynamically double filtering is always a challenge.
The other place I was gong to head was doing a collection at the OnChange of the first text box - you can do some powerful things in this area, but you do not require this now.
