Hi,
i would like to save either textinput1 or combobox.searchtext into SPlist2, both combobox1 and textinput5 are in datacardvalue1, combobox1 is assigned to lookup colunm "parts" in SPlist2, so when i submitform, and have in update properthy combobox1.selected - it saves the value to SPlist2, but command combobox1.searchtext or textinput5.text not saved and write - expecting record.
coalensce(combobox1.selected,{Value: combobox1.searchtext}), do not have any issue but not saves the search text to SPlist2
Is text Value a marked collunm in some SPlist ?
SPlist1 i am using as database for parts.
Is there any possibility to save it ?
Or how it is possible to add option which is not in choices of combobox.

Hi @11playto16 ,
You can actually make the column in List 1 a Text column, then simply have the Items of the Combo Box
Sort(
List2.YourFieldName,
YourFieldName
)
and the Data Card Update
Coalesce(
ComboBox1.Selected.YourFieldName,
ComboBox1.SearchText
)

Hi @11playto16 ,
You should not need Value in the Update if you are writing back to a Text field. If you are asking to add new values that are typed in, it is another level of complication as you would need a trigger (OnSuccess of the form would be a good one) and something like
If(
IsBlank(
LookUp(
List1,
YourFieldName = Self.LastSubmit.YourFieldName
).ID
),
Patch(
List1,
Defaults(List1),
{YourFieldName = Self.LastSubmit.YourFieldName}
)
)

Hi @11playto16 ,
If this was a Choice column, you could do this.
{
Value:
Coalesce(
ComboBox1.Selected.Value,
ComboBox1.SearchText
)
}
but why are you using a Lookup column, then trying to put back a value that is not in the reference list - your major issue here is that you do not have the Id of the looked up item as it does not exist. Is there any reason you are using a Lookup column as this would be enormously easier writing back to a Text field and getting the Combo Box Items directly from the other list field.

Hi @WarrenBelz,
in this situation it should be apply on lookup column,
i tried it and it doesn't work,
let me explain you,
i have SPlist1 which is basically just a list for part which can be used.
SPlist2 is the main list where i gather everything, therefor i came to an idea to have lookup collumn in this list to be able to find parts and have lots of entries. i do not know if Choice column in SPlist2 will be enough. because in the end i don't know how many parts will be used.
And thats why i need also a search text, to add more entries to list by users who will be using this app, because now i will not add all of them, cuz i don'know.
So what would you prefer ?
Make a choice column in SPlist2 and add everything is there or something else ?
Thanks

i needed to add {Value: before Coalesce function }
one more question, is it possible to add this new entries from combobox1.Searchtext to List1 ? to not always write Search when you once seaarching for it ??
