trouble with combo box loading data

I am fairly new to power apps ,

I am trying to create a small db. in teams PowerApps.

Currently , I have a virtual gallery --> connected to a db source in PowerApps.

I want to create a filter using a choicelist from the db in a combo box.

I try using the following on the choice item

Choices('DB_Tools_Registers'.MES_Content_type) it does not show the data correctly loading

Here is a screencapture attached. I also have tried filter, or DB.column also have the same issue.

The combo box is blank.  Any help would be helpful

thanks

Hi Jeff,

I have tried the 1 & 2 points you have mentioned.. but the combo is blank .. with the same warning as shown before

I have inserted the combo box on the Screen and I do not see it has the Primary field.

this is the case with many controls not all the properties I see we have in the teams version..

regards,

ga

Hi Jeff,

I have tried options 1 and 2

The combobox in teams I do not see we have a property for primary field. Still the combo box in preview is blank.

I am using the screen and combo is inserted on the screen

thanks

Hi @Ga_2004 ,

It is a little different in Teams App:

But although I have not chosen the Value field I am still able to see selections in the Combo Box.

You could try using a Dropdown as the alternative to see whether the issue is caused by the combo box or data table:

Hi  @v-jefferni

Yes i am currently using the method you have shown to list the combo box. With this it shows duplicates as all the rows of the table are listed just showing one column.

unfortunately the teams version does not have the dropdown to check

ga.

Hi @Ga_2004 ,

The way to add Dropdown in Teams app I have attached in my last post, and its Items property should be the same as Combo box which is Choices(DataTable.ChoicesColumnName) if it is a Choices type column.

Hi Jeff,

Here is a screenshot in teams which looks different from what you shared

Ga_2004_0-1615249156100.png

I cannot find the dropdown box to be added.

However when I used listbox with the below it works well.. that is strange that it does not work with Combo Box.

Choices('DB_Tools_Registers'.MES_Content_type)

regards

ga

Hi @Ga_2004 ,

You'll be able to find the Dropdown Control in the "Classic" category. Since the List Box could work well with the items the same as Combo box, the Choices function and the data table are with no issue I suppose.

Hi Jeff,

These are the only category available in Teams version. Is there any other way to have all controls in teams version.. ?

Hi @Ga_2004 ,

You will need to turn on the Classic controls setup in Advanced settings:

In addition, I'm curious of the layout with all controls of that screen. If possible please consider share the detailed screenshot of the screen which may help.

Thanks Jeff,

The dropdown works.

To select the Dropdown value I am having an issue now  as below . is this correct syntax?

where Choice_MDM is the Dropdown box.

Filter(DB_Tools_Registers,MES_Content_type in Choice_MDM.Selected.Value)

thanks

regards,

ga
