write back to Azure storage table through power apps from power bi

Hello - I have power bi report with data source 'Azure table storage'. I need to embed power apps in this report and enable write back to the data source. I am new to power apps as well.

I created Power Apps which is able to pull data into gallery from power bi but unable to pass values from gallery to the edit form. 

I am not connecting to the same table from Azure table storage that is used in Power BI, but I am connecting to a test table which is created from actual table in the Azure table storage. Can you help what I am doing incorrectly?

Hi @Anonymous 

We don't require passing the value from the gallery to the Edit form.

1. Set the DataSource property for the Edit form to AzureTableName

2. Set the Item property to 

LookUp(TableName, ID = BrowseGallery.Selected.ID)

Note: ID can be anything that uniquely identifies the row.

Hi - Actually I have five fields that need to be passed from Power BI into Power Apps. and one of the fields say ID is unique identifier. Any of the other four fields must be allowed to update thru power apps into the Azure table. This is the reason I need to pass values from gallery to edit form, so that user can see the current data in the four fields for that id and then update the data in any of these fields.

I assume Power BI and PowerApps data sources are the same. If that's true, the above solution should work.

Another option is to store the selected value from the Gallery and display it on the form. For this

Set the OnSelect property of the gallery to

Set(SelectedItem, BrowseGallery1.Selected);Navigate(EditScreen1, ScreenTransition.None)

SelectedItem is a global variable and will be used on other places.

Set the EditForm Item property to

SelectedItem

Make sure to set the DataField of the Card to "ColumnName"

In this case, columnname is "Title"

Set Default property of Textbox to

Parent.Default 
OR
ThisItem.Title

The problem I am guessing is with the data source. I use Azure table storage connector in Power BI as data source, but this exact connector is not available in Power Apps. I am not sure if Azure blob storage connector will work or not.

Hi @Anonymous 

PowerApps doesn't have a connector but we can leverage Power Automate as a workaround. We implemented it for enterprise clients and the solution worked well.

In our case, the Data source is  Azure Synapse which Power BI has a connector but PowerApps is not. We used Power Automate to write back to the storage

You have created a Azure SQL DB just to make this work, but if that is not feasible then this solution might not work.
thanks for sharing your knowledge but microsoft needs to help users by giving native connector for Azure Table data sources.
