Just starting Power Program

Hi All,

I have recently started the power up program, do we create the development environment and start building whilst watching the learning objective streams? effectively mirroring the work on the streams in our own dev environment?

Hi @Steve_D , yes that is the idea. Everyone learns differently but it is recommended that you build in your dev environment alongside the videos to get hands on experience.

I just started watching the videos as well.  I was thinking the same exact thing.  I initially thought that we would watch some videos and then transition into building...but as time went on...it felt like I should be following along at the same time.  

I am going back to the very first set of videos to follow along in the actual school maintenance and library tables

Often I'll watch a video from start to finish at 2x speed without building anything, just to get an idea of the whole process. Then, I'll watch it a second time and build along side the video.

My reasoning is that I don't want to be mindlessly mimicking the video without knowing where I'm trying to end up. But, as HSheild pointed out, everyone learns differently.

Yes, I believe that is the concept. I find myself watching some of the videos completely then going back to work along side them in the dev environment to ensure that I've grasped what I should be doing. I'm not sure how far along everyone else has gotten, it does take me a bit longer with this process. 

I'm open to any suggestions to make sure I'm up to speed with everyone.
