How to get the value from several checkboxes?

I tried getting the values of 2 check boxes, and I couldn't find the solution

 

I got as far as to be able to track one check box if object length > 1

 

I would like to be able to make use of the 'prettier' set option buttons, toggle box and several checkboxes, but they seem to have different ways of obtaining the values compared to a dropdown, is there a guide for that?

 

This is the only thing I achieved so far 

Checkboxes can have several options selected
Get value from 1 Checkbox only
The typeof is an object, therefore we can check the length of the object for the value. This doesn't work if you have more than one checkbox in the form

I think the issue here is that you are getting all the elements of the page, and not the specific attribute itself

You should do this at an individual level, for example:

var check01value = $("#CHECKBOX01ID").is(":checked");
var check02value = $("#CHECKBOX02ID").is(":checked");

I think the issue here is that you are getting all the elements of the page, and not the specific attribute itself

You should do this at an individual level, for example:

var check01value = $("#CHECKBOX01ID").is(":checked");
var check02value = $("#CHECKBOX02ID").is(":checked");

When I tried looking for the attribute back in the day, I still couldn't track the answer, and now I can't remember how I set the check boxes in the first place

 

It is puzzling as when I looked at the previous website the column has a data type of yes/no

 

I set my column as yes/no, but when I look back at the previous website it seems to then have data type 'single line of text', so not sure how is the box rendered as a checkbox?

 

Doing a quick test with the yes/no it displays as radio buttons and it defaults to No,

I tried adding metadata as 'multiple choice', but no luck

 

It doesn't track anything with the code below - I might be forgetting something, it displays 0 0 0 0 every time I change the answer

If it is a Yes/No field on your Dataverse form then the following

$('#fieldlogicalschemaname').is(':checked'));   

or 

$("#fieldlogicalschemaname").find("input[type='radio']:checked").val();

@Fubar How would I track the answer with console.log? 

 

@OliverRodrigues see attached a sample of the dataverse column, strange how it was set up as a 'yes/no' data type and it then flicks to 'single line of text'

 

Strange as I just opened the column again and it displays as Yes/No again

 

I can't remember how I managed it to display as a checkbox in the past, it is showing as radio buttonsCheck boxes.pngColumn.pngJS.png

Thank you so much @OliverRodrigues that worked, however it behaves in a weird way

 

When I first load the form, it shows both values as 'false'

 

I tick the first one, it updates to 'true' for that one, false for the other one

I tick the second one, it stays as true for the one above, false for this value

 

It seems like it's not updating in the console, however the Dataverse has the right value, so I guess that is all that matters

 

Thank you, it has been driving me mad for a few days 🙂 

 

Also I realised that although it's a data type of yes/no, to display it as check box in the form we have to go to Input and select the 'check box', only then it will show the available check boxes, as long as it's yes/no type

Summer of Solutions | Week 4 Results |Winners will be posted on July 24th

We are excited to announce the Summer of Solutions Challenge!    This challenge is kicking off on Monday, June 17th and will run for (4) weeks.  The challenge is open to all Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio & Power Pages) community members. We invite you to participate in a quest to provide solutions to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.    Entry Period: This Challenge will consist of four weekly Entry Periods as follows (each an “Entry Period”)   - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 17, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 23, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 24, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 30, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 1, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 7, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 8, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 14, 2024   Entries will be eligible for the Entry Period in which they are received and will not carryover to subsequent weekly entry periods.  You must enter into each weekly Entry Period separately.   How to Enter: We invite you to participate in a quest to provide "Accepted Solutions" to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.
