How to add Azure AD user to Power Pages Portal

Hi Team,

I have a Power Pages Portal created. I assume, by default, only the user who created the portal will have access to the site. I want to allow the site only to the users(Azure AD users) who have access. 

 

Please let me know the process to add a Azure AD user to the portal.

1. When the user is added through above approach, can we see, which table in Dataverse, this entry is made?

Answer: They can't see the contacts table but the newly added users can access portal management. Evidence below

Note: Only the admin user or the site owner can assign an appropriate web role. Link provided in the previous reply 

 

2. The record is created in Contact table, only when the user logged in into the site. This is not giving option for us to add the user to specific Web Role prior to the login. This mean, we need to wait until the user login to get the Contact record, then add to desired Web Role. But I would like to setup the users(Azure AD) with their Web Roles, before they login. Is this possible? Is there a way/Power Automate Flow available to perform this? Please suggest.

 

Answer: Our current method is assigning web roles automatically via power automate once the user is logged in to the site.

Note: Currently, we allow users to select their desired web role and submit it for approval. Once the approver approved it then the power automate will trigger.

Navigate to your site and select Manage Site Visibility from the Private dropdown.  In that page you will see a box where you can enter the email address of the AAD user to share the site with them.

Thanks @Pstork1 for the response. When the user is added through your approach, will the user be a part of Admin Web Role? I would like to add Azure AD users to different Web Roles. Pls suggest

Please follow the instructions from @Pstork1  to add an AD user to your site. If you need to assign an admin role, then you may need to use the Portal management.

Summer of Solutions | Week 4 Results |Winners will be posted on July 24th

We are excited to announce the Summer of Solutions Challenge!    This challenge is kicking off on Monday, June 17th and will run for (4) weeks.  The challenge is open to all Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio & Power Pages) community members. We invite you to participate in a quest to provide solutions to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.    Entry Period: This Challenge will consist of four weekly Entry Periods as follows (each an “Entry Period”)   - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 17, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 23, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 24, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 30, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 1, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 7, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 8, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 14, 2024   Entries will be eligible for the Entry Period in which they are received and will not carryover to subsequent weekly entry periods.  You must enter into each weekly Entry Period separately.   How to Enter: We invite you to participate in a quest to provide "Accepted Solutions" to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.
