Is Power Pages suited for internal-facing websites? If not, what are the alternatives?

I want to create a website, which is accessible only by the users of our organization. On this website our user must fill out a form, which updates data in a Dataverse table. I thought about using Power Pages, but I am not sure if it's suitable for that use case.

The docs say that Power Pages is for external-facing websites What is Power Pages? | Microsoft Learn:

Microsoft Power Pages is a secure, enterprise-grade, low-code software as a service (SaaS) platform for creating, hosting, and administering modern external-facing business websites.

What should I use for an internal-facing website scenario?

Is it possible to limit access to a Power Page to all users of our tenant?

Yes, you just make sure that the only identity provider that is enabled is your Azure AD (and other Azure settings are also ale to be applied e.g. limiting IP addresses https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-pages/admin/ip-address-restrict).

But, also be aware that internal users still need to be licenced appropriately to use the portal, either covered by a Power Pages licence or from the user having a licence from a qualifying product (such as Dynamics 365 among others)

I would generally not recommend using Power Pages for internal looking web sites, because of licensing cost. Most of the time you have other alternatives (like SharePoint Communication Sites), which are already included in your licenses and are easier to use.

In your case, if it is only about providing a form for users, you can use Microsoft Forms and connect it to a Power Automate flow or use a SharePoint Communication site with a Canvas App. Both can be targeted at all users in your organization.

Does power pages require each user to have a low end or premium power apps licensing or will the free license of powerapps be enough?

@bpw, Power Pages has got it's own licencing model within the Power Platform.

You cannot access Power Pages with a free (Power Apps/Automate for Office 365) license. Internal users need a premium license (Power Apps per user, Dynamics 365, etc.).

Still internal users without a premium license should be subject to the Power Pages pricing plans as either authenticated or anonymous users of the Power Page (Power Pages Pricing | Microsoft Power Pages). So if you have a lot of users this would be cheaper than buying users a premium license, but not for "free".

Thanks.  We have 2000 users that just need to submit a form only.  Why the higher number of users the cheaper it is in the volume plans for power page pricing?

What if I use canvas app connected to sharepoint data source.  Would users need power apps premium licensing ?  I can use power automate to get the data and add rows in dataverse. I won’t really need the data in the list afterwards perhaps I can delete them after a week to keep the list from growing too much?

Hi, if you only need to submit a form, use Forms connected to a flow. If you need something more sophisticated use a canvas app with SharePoint. This will not require premium licenses.
