Power Pages Core - How to install

Hi all,

I'm migrating my site to another environment but has dependency issues because the new environment does not have the power pages core package installed.

I checked the developer environment and can see there are a few packages, which probably were installed automatically when I created the site. However, I did the same (create a site from template) but the only package installed are the two portal template.

Whereas in the developer environment, there are Power Pages Core and Dataverse Base Portal.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Shirley

you need to provision the Portal in your Target Environment first, have you done that?

You need to see what data model your source and target sites are configured with.  I got caught on this. My DEV site was created with standard data model and destination was enhanced... I was trying to use Xrm ToolBox to copy site from DEV to PROD and error message was "The Target environment does not seem to have Portals solutions installed".  it's because sites with enhanced data model use different prefixes for portal related tables and tool laterally does not "see" target tables. standard data model sites use "adx_" prefix and enhanced data model sites use "mspp_" prefix.

Hello TurNET, It seems that I have the problem of different data model configurations between the two sites. What is the solution to work around this problem? Recreate the target site in destination environment with the standard data model? Is there another solution?

@VincentF you should probably disable enhanced data model in the power pages admin centre: Power Pages ALM with Solutions, Pipelines and Enhanced data model general availability (GA)| Microso...

Thank you for your response,
I've switched the option:

then cleared cache, synchronized, but I still have this error message in Portal Records Mover:

Indeed, after verification, here are the only tables that I have with the prefix 'adx_':

Is there anything else I should do?

once you have done that you need to provision an empty Portal so it install the solutions required, high-level steps:

  • disable enhanced data model (done)
  • provision a new portal (any name, you will delete it after)
  • deploy the Portal via XrmToolbox
  • your portal should appear in make.powerpages.microsoft.com as Inactive
  • reactivate your portal
  • delete the temporary portal created above

As per Oliver's post, but will add, if in your source environment you are not using Enhanced and started with one of the Dynamics 365 based portal templates also setup that same template in your target environment (e.g. if in your source you used Customer Self Service Portal, also install that Template in your Target before you move your portal)
