Power Pages - Timeline not displaying activities

Hi Everyone,

Hope you can help.

I am creating a new Power Pages Portal for our clients to login and use.

We are using a custom table and I want to have activities enabled.

I have completed the following steps, but I can only see 'Notes' in the timeline control, not the option for things like emails, portal comments, etc.

- enabled the table for activities

- setup permissions for the activitiypointer, annotation & adx_portalcomment tables

- added table metadata for timeline and notes

What im I missing????

To add Timeline controls for portal comments or displaying other activities, use the classic form editor rather than the modern Interface. It must have worked.

Surely a bug. I contacted Microsoft. Will hopefully be rectified in a subsequent release.

Assuming you have synced (cleared the portal cache) it could be a number of things, the following link probably covers most of them off.  (also note, by default some activities will not show until they are at an appropriate status e.g. marked complete)

Hi,

Thanks for the info. Ive been through the link you provided and the instructions match exactly what I have done so im still at a loss 😞

Hi @richardmayo ,

As per your screenshots, it seems you've already completed all required steps. Can you confirm if you have added/enable site setting as well? Here are the steps:

1- Go to Site Settings.

2- Set CustomerSupport/DisplayAllUserActivitiesOnTimeline site setting to true.

Here is the link for reference: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-pages/configure/view-all-activities-in-portal-timeline

Thanks

Hi @saudali_25

Thanks for the tip, yes I had already set that in Site Settings.

Am I missing anything in the actual table itself? These are the options selected (along with the "Enable Attachments"

Hi @richardmayo ,

As per screenshot, I don't think you're missing anything on table level. On table level, we need to enable Attachments, Quick Create and have to create a Quick Create form for the table.

Assuming you have already added table permissions. The only thing that I'm wondering you might be missing is the timeline filter. Can you double check filters for Portal Timeline View. Here are the steps:

1- Go to Solutions –> Default Solution

2- Open the Activity Table

3- Go to views and select “Portal Timeline View”

4- Click on Edit Filters and add the activity which you want to display on Portal timeline.

5- Save and Publish.

6- Go to your Portal, you should see custom activity in the timeline. (Clear Cache of your portal if it is not visible)

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Saud

Hi @saudali_25

Yep those tasks have been done also.

A couple of thoughts, I'm using the "Starter Layout 5" template, would that have any impact?

The environment also does not have any Dynamics 365 apps, would that have any impact?

Other than that, im at a loss why it isnt working.
