User authentication questions

I have a few questions related to user authentication:

1. I have Azure AD disabled which is probably why it doesn't show up on the Sign in tab, but it still shows up in the Register tab. Can I remove Azure AD from the Registration tab as well? If so, how?

2. Redeem invitation - is that option only for Azure AD auth or can it be used for Azure ADB2C auth method as well?

3. Can I disable registration and use just the invitation method?

Thank you!

Sounds like Resolutions put a lot of effort ChatGPT to help you out there 😬

Are you using only B2C as your authentication provider? I would suggest using the default policy setting to bypass that page entirely

Set up site authentication | Microsoft Learn

Invitation process shouldn't be affected, the behaviour should be something like:

  • invitation process is initiated in the back-end
  • user gets e-mail with invitation code/link
  • user is redirected to the page below
  • if user clicks on Sign in or Register Tabs
    • user is redirected to B2C
    • alternatively you can add JS to that page and hide the buttons (I also remove that "I have an existing account, for example")
  • if user clicks on Register button (within Redeem Invitation tab)
    • user is also redirected to B2C, but this time they will be associated with the Contact invited to the Portal
    • I haven't used, but there is also a B2C invitation flow/process that you could use, but it might add complexity

hope this helps

@OliverRodrigues

Thanks a lot for your response. I have a few more questions:

  1. I wasn't able to get the email out. I see it created in the Portal Management app, but it remains stuck in the Pending Send status reason with this message: This message has not yet been submitted for delivery. For more information, see help. What should I do to make this work?
  2. When I take the invitation link and click on redeem, it gave me both options - Azure AD and Azure ADB2C. How can I hide Azure AD here as well?
  3. Can you suggest some good resource(s) for me to learn JS and HTML/CSS or whatever else is needed to be equipped?

Apologies for all the questions.

  1. Have you enabled Exchange Integration? if so have you Approved the mailbox of the user sending the email (you can also set to a specific user by editing the Create Email step in the "Send Invitation" Process (workflow). Also be aware the default domain in the url is set to local host, this needs to be updated in that workflow to your your sites domain.
  2. Set the following Site Setting to false:  Authentication/Registration/AzureADLoginEnabled

Thank you @Fubar . The first one worked. For the 2nd point above, I already have that setting set to false. I have also disabled open registration. But when I go to redeem a code, I see 2 options - Azure AD and Azure ADB2C. Not sure how to remove Azure AD from this page.

Thanks,

Hardit

@OliverRodrigues do you have an example of the JS code to achieve this - hiding the "I have an existing account" option.

Thanks,

Hardit

I have a multistep form on power pages, but after I deleted all records from the table the form is using, the form is no longer showing/displaying on the page for authenticated users. I would appreciate any assistance on how to resolve this.

Are you using enhanced or standard model?

The site setting definitely works in Standard, make sure it is lower case 'false' and the portal cache has been cleared.

Sorry about the delay @PowerAddict

You can create a content snippet called Account/RedeemInvitation/PageCopy, set to HTML and add a <script> tag there with your JS to manipulate the page
