So, I used a compose action for each of the individual variables and it seemed to work. I don't know why that fixed it if anyone can offer an explanation

I would suspect that you need quote marks around the individual variables for them to render as text. If that doesn't help, then I'm not sure.

So , I solved the issue by composing the variables separately of that action. Then put the output of each compose into that compose and it worked. I don't know how... I also tried surrounding the variables in quotes earlier and it did not work...

Tried that and it didn't work, I actually put each of those variables into their own Compose actions, then put the compose action outputs for each variable into the compose I listed instead of that variables and it worked... Don't know why it didn't work otherwise though.

I might have a solution... or at least it worked for me.

When placing a variable, or output into the Rows section of the excel connector, wrap it in the 'JSON' function.

eg.

json(outputs('Compose_of_Excel_Rows'))

I hope this helps someone!

I am getting same error and tried everything on this post. My array looks like this--

[
  "Value1",
  "Value2"
]

I am using Apply to each and Adding a row to a table with the Current Item but I get the same error - "The request entity's media type 'text/plain' is not supported for this resource."

You need to be presenting the JSON to the Excel connector like this:

{"Column Name":"Row Value"}

I tried what you said but giving me this error now - This won't work because it would move cells in a table on your worksheet.

In row, I gave - json('{"Column Name":"Column Value"}')

Try dropping the JSON into a string variable first, and then calling it from within a JSON function on the Row section of the Excel connector.

Hello

I had the same issue, the solution is put the a Json formula on the compose so it update the text into a json object, that works for me

I was getting the "The request entity's media type 'text/plain' is not supported for this resource." error because in my Compose action that assembles the row to be inserted, I had quotes surrounding the Input. Hope this helps someone.

BAD:

"{
"Name":"foo",
"email": "bar",
"Phone#": 4,
"Comment": "cow"
}"

GOOD:

{
"Name":"foo",
"email": "bar",
"Phone#": 4,
"Comment": "cow"
}

Hello!
For me, I had 2 issues I wanted to say for anyone else still looking at this:

1. '#' in my column name was messing the flow up. I replaced with text.

2. The editor within add rows was a bit finnicky. Power Automate kept putting my cursor various places without my knowledge. Using the Compose Tile really helped.

Thanks for all the effort put into this! Helped me a lot!
