Create an Approval - How to change/Update the Assigned To name

Hi Team,

I have created a flow with "Create an Approval" action. While creating I have added my email in "Assigned To" and task has been created. And I can only respond to that task.

Now I wanted to send that Approval Task link to Other users and they also should be able to respond to that task. I want to change/update the "Assigned To" after some Actions. Is there any way that I can update the "Assigned To" column value so other users also can respond to that task.

Why do you need to assign the task to yourself first and then reassign to others in the same flow? Is it possible to execute your logic first to determine who the correct receipient of the Approval is then create the Approval and assign it to that user?

You can reassign the the Approval manually from the Approvals centre like so if you are do not have the logic within Power Automate.

An additional solution is to assign the Approval to a Microsoft 365 Group and turn notifications off. That way all members of the group will be able to respond to the Approval but will not be made aware of it until a later moment in your workflow when could send an email notification to the specific user, directing them to their Approvals center and providing an ID they can use to identify Approvals 'assigned' to them.

However, your best solution is to determine the best recipient of the task before creating it.

Hi TomMoody,

I have created a task now I want Reassign the task to other user. I can use the existing default functionality as you mentioned but I need to send some text for the delegation. So what I am doing when task is created that time I am saving the approval/respond URL in list. After that I m providing the list item Edit form URL to user and from that they are selecting Delegated checkbox and adding delegated user name. Along with I am providing Approval link which I saved in list.

But when user(Delegated User) click on that link he can not access because task is is Assigned to original user when it is created so when Delegated user receive the this link that user can not access.

So I wanted can I share the same Approval/Respond link to other user so he can also take the action on task?
