Date Conversion | Power Automate

Hi, 

I am scheduling a flow to create a csv file and send an email to specific users. 

flow I used: Recurrence --> Run Query against a dataset --> parse json --> create csv --> send an email (v2)    

In my out csv file I have multiple columns in which few of them are date columns and default type for this date fields is 

2024-07-05T00:00:00. 

I want only date as '2024-07-05' instead of date time. 

Could somebody help me with this

You need to use the FormatDateTime(PutDateTimeValueHere, 'format')

formatDateTime(outputs('Compose'),'yyyy-MM-dd')

Were my  compose outputs was a DateTime Value and now I converted it to just year/month/day

I am not sure If I used it correctly. But just wanted to share screenshot of my flow

Parse json and selected Date column in Compose and I used below in second compose as you suggested 

formatDateTime(outputs('Compose'),'yyyy-MM-dd')

 I am not sure how I can call composed date value while creating csv, usually I select columns as custom and define Column header values separately as below

Yes we can make it do what you want, but you copied it as text, I can tell becuase its just the words and not the pink bubble it should be.

Make sure when you select Inputs , that when the popup window comes, select the Expression Tab, then paste in what i gave you

All you need to do is create an Expression where you have the DATE Map.

You would wrap the column you have there IN the expression so for instance.

Here is what I want you to do.

I want you highlight the Column Value you placed in the DATE value side.

The HPIAdmins[Dat

Step 1. I want you to highlight it, then I want you to CTR-C so its gone.

Step 2. I want you to paste it into Notepad or whatever simple text editor you have

Step 3. Soon as you past it, it will also have @{ at the beginning and } at the end (its an expression wrapper)

I want you to remove those 3 characters.

Step 4. I want you to click in the DATE Value box again.

Step 5. When the Window Pops up, click the Expression Side.

Step 6. Type and do this

first type -- formatDateTime(,'yyyy-MM-dd')

DO NOT Close the window yet, you will notice we have NOT put in the expression for the Date, since its (, so we need to ADD the date.

I want you to keep the window open but go to your NOtepad and copy the expression you pasted before AND removed the @{ } characters

I want you to paste that into the spot between ( and , where you dont have code yet.

Once you do that IN the expression window I want you to select Ok so that it will put the expression in the Value Side of the DATE map

You should be done if you did it correctly.

Now all dates will be formatted properly

I did what you said.   

Now how do I assign this  formatted date value to create csv table at date column.
