Duplicating a SharePoint List with Multiple Lines of Text columns and Append changes selected

Hello everyone,

I am new to this so forgive me if this has been answered somewhere but I have been unable to find it. I am trying to create a duplicate backup of a SharePoint List that is used by a canvas app. I have been able to figure out everything from the attachments to the person column allowing multiple people in one field. The only thing I cannot figure out is a multiple lines of text column that has append changes selected. I want this to be duplicated on the backup as it is the activity log for packages being routed with our app and is important in the event of ever losing our app's SharePoint list. Right now, under create item, when I select the dynamic activity log content from my get items to write to my backup list, the Activity Log column has no entries when you click on "View Entries" after I run the flow. I am thinking this might have something to do with versions as I believe (please correct me if I am wrong) every time someone updates the activity log in the app and it appends a change to that column, it is essentially writing a new version of that item in the list.

So, I guess long story made short I am trying to take the name, date, time and comments made in the multi-line text with append changes selected column in one SharePoint List and copy that to another SharePoint list. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You are better off using a PowerShell script rather than Flow. You can find the script here.

Using flow is possible to achieve the need. Please check below thread:

With the array of multiple lines of text, you can try and use a Compose action with join function to concatenate all the comments with a decodeUriComponent('%0A') as the separator, this separator is also a new line symbol in the Text column.

join(variables('Comments'), decodeUriComponent('%0A'))

Thank you for the quick response and pointing me in the right direction. Right now, I am able to get my flow to run but the output to the ActivityLog column is just the uri versions of the item. Where would the join function fit into the equation, and would I be able to keep the original who and when data in the duplicate SharePoint list? The reason I ask this is because my app has an activity log button that triggers an instant flow to show in a popup, the activity log of their package as it is routed through the organization. Thanks for all of your help. I really appreciate it.
