Flow doesn't send the message from the original Forms survey submitter

Hello,

I used two flows, that trigger after someone fills in a survey in forms:

1) Notify the team when a new response is submitted

2) Send an e-mail when a new response is submitted

The goal is - after someone from the team fills in the form, flow sends an e-mail with the results to the e-mail group and posts it as a message on teams.

However, it shows me (the creator of the form) as the sender of the message, not the original person who filled the form. How do I fix that, so when a person completes the form, he is the one who shows up as the sender of the messages? I have shared both flows and the form with the team. Only issue, I can figure out is when in flows using "When a new response is submitted", I have to manually write the Form ID instead of choosing from the drop-down list.

HI @annijamit 

I don't think you can configure that. Flow always uses the same email address as the sender. If you could send it from another person, then it would be easy to impersonate someone else. 

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I'll leave it up to the other members if they know a decent workaround to your issue.

Thank you for answering!

See, I am asking this, since when we first tested the e-mail flow, when my colleague filled the form, it did show in as the e-mail was sent from him (after he filled the survey), not me.

The only difference I could notice now was that when writing the Flow for it - I had the form available in the drop-down, while I don't see any of the shared forms now in there and have to write in manually the ID.

Still hoping someone will be able to help out.

Hey @annijamit ,

I found this in a Microsoft article:

"The Outlook connector will be able to send emails only using those email accounts that your credentials have access to. You cannot use the connector to send a mail on behalf of some other user - for obvious security reasons. This behavior and so the error you get are by design"

It's also a submitted idea:

There's a comment there that has the following workaround:

"I didnt find a workaround for this, what I end up doing was asking my System administrator for a Global Email for those users and use that email as the "Send As" and in the text of the email I use the dinamic tool to show the name and email of the person that made the change. So the email seems to be generic but the text shows who made the change. "

Don't know if I'm helping or making you more confused, but at least we have some leads to go on... 🙂
