Flow not triggering when scheduled

Hello,

I have a VERY simple flow that pulls information from an excel worksheet and sends an email reminder when a review is due.

It is scheduled to go out every 2 weeks on Monday but it's been going out EVERY Monday.

Secondly, the date that it's pulling is coming through in a number format vs. date format.

PLEASE HELP!

Thank you!

Hi again

So the problem with excel date column is explained that Excel stores internally dates as integers following the logic described in this post:

Days Since 1900–01–01 (+2) is used in the Microsoft Excel date functions such as DAY(serial_number) and WEEKDAY().

Note, Excel’s serial number is 2 higher than the number on this page.

In Excel January 1 is serial number 1. In this converter midnight January 1, 1900 is 0, after 1 day it is midnight on January 2. To correct this you have to add/subtract 1.

Excel incorrectly sees 1900 as a leap year (for compatibility with Lotus 1–2–3) so you have to add/subtract 1 to all days when using in Excel. Also see: Excel incorrectly assumes that the year 1900 is a leap year

So, let's assume you add an 'initialize variable' action block, name 'myReviewDate' type string, and assign as its value your current Excel column output

Now all you need to do is to replace 'my Review Date' dynamic content from your email body and use this expression instead :

addDays('1900–01–01T00:00:00Z',sub(int(variables('myReviewDate')),2))

Please take a try it and tell us back if this issue is solved

Thanx!

Hi!

Can you share a screenshot from your current flow trigger design?

Thanx!

@efialttes I was not lying when I explained it's very BASIC. I am not very good with power automate and I needed a simple reminder. It worked for a while but is now having issues. I have four different flows for each type of review, all in the same format. The part that isn't shown here is the ' Apply to each 2 ' which is just another email for OVERDUE reviews.

Hi again

THe execution frecuency issue seems to be a bug in Flow, at least according to the Preview text shown, which explicitly says it will be executed 'on Monday every two weeks'. We will need to think on a workaround

So let's concentrate in the date issue. You are referring to Excel 'Review date' right?

Thanx!
