Flow using onedrive connector is running every 30 sec

Hi everyone,

i would like to automatically run an excel script in a file when the file is modified, i started using the connector one drive when a file is modified (properties), then get file metadata, then add a condition if last modified date is > utc-6.

not sure about the steps after the begining but the fact is the flow is running every 30 secondes, does the fact that the file is located on cloud affect the "when a file is modified" connector, as an exemple the auto saves or something?

Hi @Alban2 ,

You may want to implement something like this, I don't think you need a recurrence trigger to run every 3 seconds because it is not needed if there are no changes; this will launch when a change is made and then you check the addHours(utcNow(),6) and if true, run script.

dear @trice602 many thanks for your quick feedback, that's the flow i wrote but despite the condition the flow execute itself every 30sec without any modification into the file i selected

Hi @Alban2 ,

Most likely the root cause is because the trigger is set to a folder so it is going to fire when any changes are made in this folder.  My recommendation is to have this file in a completely new, isolated folder.

hi @trice602 , it's already the case the excel file is on my ONEDRIVE isolated on a single folder without any additionnal file. as it's a test i done this to be sure the file is not shared or modified by someone other than me.

to be sure of the reliabilty of the flow before submit it to my boss

Understood.  Here's a trigger filter that my help you get the modifications down to your single file by using a trigger name condition.  To do this (the easy way), create a filter array action below your trigger shown below:

In this example, my file name that I want to monitor is called thisfile.xlsx.  Next, click on Edit in advanced mode and copy that expression, shown below.

Next, delete the filter array action because we only use it here to help us create the trigger condition.  Next, on your trigger, click on the "..." and click on settings.  At the bottom of the settings, add a trigger condition and paste in your expression we copied from the filter array helper action, shown below.

With this trigger condition, it will isolate the modifications only to this specific file.  Click Done, Save, resubmit a test.

hi @trice602 nothing change, flow stills running every 30sec, as it's a cloud drive maybe the auto save or smoething related is taken as a modification for the trigger modified?
seperately i've asked AI chat bot about this topic it didn't give me suitables answer, i also analyzed the output message of every steps into the execution diary without succes also
