Get a file SharePoint ID from group Form

So I have an "upload multiple files" field in one of my group form from Microsoft Forms. When submitted, I have a Flow triggered. I Get Response Details. I Compose and Parse the values of the upload field. JSON schema looks like this:

{
    "type": "object",
    "properties": {
        "name": {
            "type": "string"
        },
        "link": {
            "type": "string"
        },
        "id": {
            "type": "string"
        },
        "type": {},
        "size": {
            "type": "integer"
        },
        "referenceId": {
            "type": "string"
        },
        "driveId": {
            "type": "string"
        },
        "status": {
            "type": "integer"
        },
        "uploadSessionUrl": {}
    }
}
The "Id" or the "referenceId" is something like this: 01AJVOUXSNJQKILVRSQVE2KSP4MOCZTNNU
I want to get the file SharePoint ID in my flow, but since it's a Group Form, the files gets uploaded to a Sharepoint site. I can't get the file using this ID and I can't seem to find any information as to how to find the Sharepoint ID (in this case is somehting like 24).

I can get the file's content using OneDrive For Business actions, but not the SharePoint List ID. What am I missing?

This was the first thing I tried, but it doesn't work because I don't have the Sharepoint File ID, I have the OneDrive File ID and they work in very different ways. Sharepoint File ID's are simple incrementing Numbers. The first file is ID 1 and the subsequent files ids are increased by one. OneDrive useses more of a UUID technique where a random string of numbers and letters are generated (like the example given in my original post: 01AJVOUXSNJQKILVRSQVE2KSP4MOCZTNNU) and that's what the file ID is in OneDrive. I can't use the OneDrive ID in a SharePoint API Query.

I ended up asking ChatGPT for help and it did! What works in this specific case is to first Parse JSON the images array. Then, use Get file metadata

Samuel_PP_1-1685034166493.png

This will return a field 'ETag' with some ID that can be used with the GetFileById() API, but it needs to be cleaned up first. So I come up with the following formula to go from the value '{289166841894},5' to '289166841894'

@{replace(split(outputs('Get_file_metadata')?['body/ETag'],'}')[0],'"{','')}

Then, use Send an HTTP request to SharePoint using the Get method with the following Uri: _api/web/GetFileById('@{replace(split(outputs('Get_file_metadata')?['body/ETag'],'}')[0],'"{','')}')?$expand=ListItemAllFields

No need for headers or anything else.

In the response will be the SharePoint File ID. You can then use the SharePoint Get file properties to get its properties. From there, you can do anything with the file you could with any other files like copy the file or rename it.

So why don't you use the HTTP request I provided? It only requires the DriveId and the DriveItemID which you already have.

_api/v2.1/drives/{DriveId}/items/{DriveItemID}?$select=id,sharepointids

You are using Microsoft Forms, correct? If so, the form responses are stored in an Excel spreadsheet in your OneDrive. They are not created in SharePoint. If this is what you are looking for, it is stored as Response ID when you get the response details:

How are you getting the file's content using OneDrive for Business, but it is stored in a SharePoint?

I didn't know you could get SharePoint files by using a OneDrive action.

I you know the drive id and you put it before like this: concat(driveID,'.',fileID) it will appear. OneDrive is, after all, the software we use to sync SharePoint File library to the desktop, so I'm not surprised this works.

Then call the file with a HTTP request and get the properties. The ListItemID will be in there so you can parse json that out and use it.

This is an HTTP Request to SharePoint. Put the Site Address for the Teams site.

Then in the URI, put the DriveID and the DriveItemID along with the ?$select=id,sharepointids to make a sharepoint IDs type request.

Uri: _api/v2.1/drives/{DriveId}/items/{DriveItemID}?$select=id,sharepointids

The headers needs to have Accept in the left column and then in the right column

application/json; odata.metadata=none; odata.streaming=true

Sorry, I was certain I had tried this but your Uri is different. It works great. I also needed the file path and if I remove the question mark and everything after, I get all kind of useful data about my file.

Thank you for insisting
