Having issue with Apply to each loop while sending emails

Hi Folks,

I am facing issues while sending emails to the SharePoint list item owners. As per the screenshot, I need to send email to IPO owners on the basis of some conditions. Every thing works fine, if I add my email ID in "To" field, I am able to receive all the required emails.

But when I choose IPO owners as Dynamic value in "To" fields, I am getting following error:

Hi,
As i can see, it's of type object because your field allows multiple people select.
On the start of the flow you should initialize variable of type string.
In apply to each you need to add append to string and use Owner Email as dynamic value.

Here is screenshot of how should it look like:

And then only add that variable on the To: field

PS dont forger to add ; in append to string

Thank you for your quick response, but the issue is I am using Get Items to read SP list items.
when I initialize variable at first step after "Get Items", it's already created a loop for IPO Owner itself.

And it doesn't let me save it.
Flow save failed with code 'InvalidVariableInitialization' and message 'The variable action 'Initialize_variable_2' of type 'InitializeVariable' cannot be nested in an action of type 'Apply_to_each_3'.'.

Hi @rsinha ,

Don't add an dynamic value inside of the initialize variable, leave it empty.
If that's the case than you will have loop inside of loop:

So as it is in the naming, for each item from get items it needs to add all email owner emails from that item.
PS. dont forget ; in append as I did in this screenshot 😄

Again, tried everything same, now getting error:

Flow save failed with code 'InvalidTemplate' and message 'The template validation failed: 'The repetition action(s) 'Apply_to_each' referenced by 'inputs' in action 'Send_an_email_(V2)' are not defined in the template.'.'.

I hope I have followed the exact steps as you mentioned, kindly correct me if I did anything wrong here:

Hi @rsinha,
I think that you've renamed apply to each sections maybe?
In error it sais Apply_to_each that is referenced and you have Apply to each 3 and Apply to each 4
Can you Hover over Current item and check if it takes good name from apply to each step?

Hi @rsinha ,

To simplify you can make use of a Select action and pass the IP Owner column as an input for the select operation  and in the left specify Email and on the right map it to item()?['Email']

Now use the output array from the select operation as an input in apply to each and send an email.
