How large file size do File System service suport with On-Premises data gateway ?

I want to use over 1MB file in File System service with On-Premises data gateway.

and want to use the File contect in below actions.

My scenario:

scenario 1: Upload the File to specific OneDrive for Business.

scenario 2: Send a mail attemped the File.

I success 10KB txt files, 25KB png files,

But I failed in 176KB PowerPoint pptx file.

Message is in Japanese. "HTTP 要求に失敗しました。タイムアウトに達しました。"

Message mean "Failed HTTP request, because Timeout."

On-Premises data gateway environment:

OS: Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard.

Across all Flow connectors and services, the file size limits for uploading & downloading content is 50 MB, and the timeout for uploading & downloading is 90 [s]. Neither of the values are configurable today.

However, in the next few months, we plan on incresing the limits to much larger values and making them configurable.

Given that, it should not be timing out for a 176 KB file. Could you please share the URL of the page when you are looking at the debug view / history? We can use the information from that to pull the logs on our side.

The limit has been increased to 100 MB maximum for a single message/file, pending support by individual connectors / systems (e.g. if the service Flow connects to only supports 5 MB, then that is the maximum limit for that service..however, Flow itself imposes the 100 MB limit, so even if the service supports 1 TB, only a 100 MB message/file can be used).

A notable improvement is that the File system connector, through the on-premises data gateway, has had its limit increased from 2 MB to 20 MB recently. We also will be increasing FTP and Azure Blob to 1 GB+ in the next month or so, and plan on increasing File System to 1 GB as well by the end of the year.

Thank you, @clamanna for your quick information.

File size limit = 50 MB.

Timeout uploading/downloading = 90 sec.

Configuration file size limit, timeout = Current - No, Plan - Next few months.

I wait few month for configuration setting.

and I hope the debug information for file size and time in each my flows.

Is there any update on when the file size limit increase will occur?

Thank you @clamanna for your reply, and informations.

100 MB .. Microsoft Flow limit of single message/file.

20 MB .. On-premises data gateway limit - recently.

1 GB+ .. FTP, Azure Blob limit- plan next month

1 GB .. File System limit - plan end of year

Hi Clamanna

As you have mentioned, does File System Supports 1 GB now with On-Premises data gateway?

Because my flow is getting failed while extracting the archive to folder when the file size is over 20MB.

30 MB is the limit at the moment. The 1 GB support discussed earlier in this thread has not been implemented. There is also a user voice request for this here:

https://feedback.azure.com/forums/287593-logic-apps/suggestions/20158219-file-system-connector-maxim...

Hi !

I got a similiar problem,

When I move files bigger than 2Mb,  Flow splits file into 2 with same name in target folder?

Are there any options that creates that error?

It appears that chunking is in effect. Chunking splits large files for transport to avoid timeout of individual calls to the On-Premises Data Gateway. At the completion of the calls it should put back the file together. Has the full file move operation completed?

Also, you do have the option to open a free support ticket for your issue on the Azure Portal to get a customer support engineer to assist you until resolution of your problem.

Yes the file is complete but splited in Two almost identical names. Original are3.2MB. Split become 2048kB in first rest in last.
I got a service to take hare of it in Target folder that fails, due to the first XML has no ending. And the last no beginning.

Hi @clamanna  you mentioned in that File System connector max. file size would be increased to 1GB by end of 2017.   It's now 2020 and it seems the limit is still 20MB.

Yes!!!  Please increase the limit for On-Prem to at lease 100MB.

You can do today 100 MB using Logic App Integration Service Environment File System Connector. There is no need to go through On-Premises Data Gateway with ISE as you have the LA VPN injected next to your file server.

Hello clamanna

I have same exact problem today but I am using Custom Connector. How can I resolve this issue? Its impacting my deliverable s...

Any help would be greatly appreciated

With custom connector you could do what I did for large files to SAP: pass a blob uri instead and download / upload the blob from within the connector.

Appreciate your response. but the means I need to store BLOB URI somewhere may be in another library... let me think

Hello,
I am developing a solution that will be using On-premises data gateway and Logic Apps.
But I read that read and write operations have a 2-MB payload limit in Microsoft Documentation
Are the limits have been increased to 100 MB maximum so I can copy and update files till 100 MB maximum.

Via chunking the limits have been raised for file system connector via gateway.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/connectors/filesystem/#general-limits

GENERAL LIMITS
Name Value
Maximum file size for general operations (in MB) 30
Maximum file size for create file operation (in MB) 20
On-premises data gateway connection timeout (in seconds) 30

@MohammadAmer did you get any work around for this as I'm not able to create files more than 2 MB. my flow fails with BadGateway 504 timeout error.
