How to get "Form Id" in Power Automate flow? (MS Teams - MS Forms)

Hi all,

hope you are all well and safe.

I have a Teams channel where I created a Form (using MS forms) and I am trying to create a flow which allows me to create a task (using planner) and post on Teams channel after certain field are filled in my Form.

It should be an easy task since there is a template already on PA home page however, i get stuck immediately because the flow can't find my Form from the drop down menu.

I check for suggestions online and frequently i found "copy&paste the id from the hyperlink" however, if I do this the dynamic content is not available - see screenshot)

Hope somebody could help 🙂

Hi @Anonymous ,

You can get the outputs after the "Get response details" action.

I have simulated same case scenario - indeed the form created using teams is not visible in the dropdown. But I used the form id and it worked without any issues

1. input.PNG

2. output.PNG

So go ahead and use the form ID directly, also to get outputs - you will get it in actions below the "Get Response Details"

Hope you find this helpful! 🙂

Kind Regards,

Shaik Sha

Thanks! it works 🙂

I still can't get this to work.  It was all working fine until I moved the form into a shared folder.  Now none of the "flows" will execute.  I also can't find my form ID anywhere and "get the response details" isn't doing anything either.   Can you dumb this down for me and help me to understand why this isnt working anymore?

Hi,

if you are using the correct Form Id in your flow follow the answer I received and I marked as correct: it did solve my initial issue

hi Gabriele

i copied the form id from the URL, im still  getting an error

i dont know if maybe its because the form is also linked to sharepoint, which is causing the error maybe?

You've got an &Token= as part of the flow ID. You need to delete that and all the letters after it, it's not part of the form ID.

hi RobElliot

i deleted it and pasted the form id and im still getting an error..this is the form i linked with Sharepointforms.PNG

Hi kaygee,

I've exactly the same issue (with the Forms Id) did you finally solved your issue?

Thanks

Loïc

Hi Loïc

no its still not solved

I had the same issue and could not get it to work either.  I had created my form in Excel and was using the excel file url.  I had to copy the url from inside the form itself and cut out everything but then form ID, then I got it working.

Hi everyone! I had this same exact issue. And I just copied from URL and it worked. Maybe MS updated the system.

The issue for me was solved by deleting spaces and special characters from the Form's title.

Hi, do you know why I am getting 'List of response notifications. Response Id' instead of the single Response Id? Automatically when using it, an apply to each is created but I need this step to be independent in order to extract all the dynamic content from the Form in variables. Thank you!

@PageLearning List of Response Notifications: Response ID is just the old name of Response ID before Microsoft renamed it. If you are creating your flow from the Forms template it still puts in the old name but uses Response ID if you create a flow from blank. The template also puts in that illogical and error-prone apply to each. I recommend you go back to the classic designer and create a new blank instant flow and add the "when a new response is submitted" trigger immediately followed by the "get response details" action and select Response ID.
