@Anonymous,

You don't need the Compose and Compose_2 actions.

Use inside Condition action in the left branch:

items('Apply_to_each')?['DOB']

The right branch remain the same.

I used the question mark to be sure that if a ['DOB'] value doesn't exist, the system is aware and not throw an exception.

Hope it helps !

see,

and this is how my columns are defined in mylist

user1162_2-1710849567953.png

and date in 'mm-dd' format ex: 03-19
i.e., march 19
why its happening?

Back tracking against what Gabibalaban said, but because we/you need to see the output of the two values you are comparing, I wish power automate would show the evaluation instead of just the evaluation result. Take

items('Apply_to_each')?['DOB']

and put it into a compose action, then do the same for your format date/time putting it in another compose, Then when you run the flow you will see the two variables being compared. My guess is that despite being formatted MM-DD in sharepoint when you are using it in power automate it is send the full date not the formatted date. So you are comparing 03-19-2024 (or similar) against 03-19 (the format date time you are applying).

It is more work in the building process, but it might be easier to debug/understand if you test for month and day in two separate steps. So if month of sharepoint birthdate = current month is true then if day of sharepoint birthdate = day of current date then if true send email

@Anonymous ,

As the flow seems not to throw any errors, I need to ask - Is someone’s birthday today ?

yes for testing purpose i set the todays date for one the employee DOB . still not able to send mail

@Anonymous,

Let me put two more "stupid" questions 🙂 ...

1. How many employees is in your list ? Are there more than 100 employees ? Maybe is better to turn on the pagination on Get Items action.

2. What is your TimeZone ? Maybe in the right branch you need to use

convertFromUTC(utcNow(),'Your Time Zone','MM-dd')

there are less than 60 employees, so no need of changing the threshold value here
coming to ur question i tried converting to india time zone but still nothing happen

this is the expression i use in right side
formatDateTime(convertTimeZone(utcNow(),
'UTC', 'India Standard Time'),'MM-dd')

at first i put the dob and current date expression in compose action only, but then @gabibalaban suggested another way so i remove the compose actions and directly pass it into the condition, and in my data there is only month and date not month date and year
ex: 03-19
i formatted my data into only  in 'mm-dd' to avoid such errors..

Please share here the 2-3 elements of the JSON output of Get Items action. There must something we've missed

.....

Not helpful ! Actually I need to see the data you received from SharePoint server as outputs of Get Items.

You need to go on a run instance of the flow to Get items action, press on outputs and just copy paste one-two items of the value property.
