Json stuck in Apply to Each

Hello,

I have a scenario where we must create a json of specific format.  This apply to each step output is using a parsed json from an existing Array.  As expected this wraps the compose into an apply to each step which results in the inability to add the compose step to the Create docx template further downstream.  I have done a variety of testing including appending the compose to a string which is not compatible when used in the template datasource step.  I also did some brief testing with appending to object array however the concept does not seem to be straight forward and it's not clear if this is the correct direction.

So considering I have the data in the required format as seen in the compose below is there not a path forward without reassembling the data through multiple steps simply to get it to the docs x template action?  I am open to any suggestions as I know this is nothing new here.  Thanks!

Hey

You should create a string variable, then use the append to string instead so that your json is built up as expected inside the loop.

Once done you can convert the string to json using the expression json(yourstringvariable)

Hi Gristy, Thank you for you feedback!  I did not realize this function existed and hope to get it working as this would be a nice solution.  I did as you instructed and on the compose the following expression json(variables('PSArray'))  works however its only outputting the first record instead of the 57 that actually were returned to the string.  If I dump the string variable into a compose without the json(variables('PSArray')) its certainly returning all records.

The good news is the format is correct so just need to figure out how to get it to return all records instead of just the first.

this is why i mention to append a string variable each time the loop runs.  you need to build the string then convert to json

I am appending to a string variable PSArray within my apply to each loop.  Than outside of the loop I use the compose 

json(variables('PSArray')) and the results are a single record rather than returning all of them, its just returning the first one.  As indicated when I do add a 2nd compose for testing the string array they are all there.  Does this look wrong?
