Move Tasks between buckets once completed

I have successfully set up a flow which moves the task between buckets once completed. 

 

However it only pulls through the subject name and I want all details to move through including start date, due date, assigned task, body of task, and notes. Also I want the task to be deleted from the previous bucket so there is no duplication.

 

Please can someone help me?

I am pretty sure you just need Update a task (v2) > 'bucketId' after your switch. In a quick test all the details were moved and no deletion was required. Basically, you are just reassigning the bucket.

Thank you! This answer helped me successfully implement my first Flow. Only took me a minute to figure out how to get the completed task's ID into the Task ID field, and to find the bucket's ID, but I got there 👍.

If you’re willing to do a little extra set-up, then you could make a SharePoint list kanban board where users could drag between buckets & where you could have a view dedicated just to statuses for when a user changes the status field on a card…

Is there a step-by-step guide for this process? I'm a rookie on this and I cannot pass from Task Id "Custom Value", nor can find the Bucket Id. Thanks!

@NoeTrevino - by default a list of existing tasks is presented when you select the Task Id so you have to click into Custom Value to get access to the trigger. See the picture below.

Regarding the other reply RE: BucketsId, I see the website with the list of parameters, but I have no idea what to do with it; I don't want to bother you, but are there instructions on how to use that? Truly, I have no idea, and my IT knowledge is limited. Thank you!

Nevermind! I found a trick using peek code and it worked. Thank you for your help, ChrisMendoza!!!

This is great and works... kind of! I have created a flow to move it to the next bucket and reset the progress to "Not Started"; that is effectively a move from Bucket A to Bucket B. However, when I have a similar flow to move it from Bucket B to Bucket C, it continues to push the Task back into Bucket B. Ideally, I need to be able to set these flows to run against individual buckets so I think the issue is the Group ID and Plan ID I am using. Any suggestions? Sorry, I know this is probably confusing to follow!!

@ChrisMendoza, thanks a lot! This works! I was ready to tear out my hair. I am new to Power Automate and was having a hard time understanding what all these things mean. So much of Power Automate (and programming in general) is just implied. You have to read between the lines. I had to hunt a while to get to the interface you show. Power Automate now has the AI assistant that is not overly helpful in my opinion. Had to turn it off to be able to get to the traditional view where I can actually manipulate the parameters.

Summer of Solutions | Week 4 Results | Winners will be posted on July 24th

We are excited to announce the Summer of Solutions Challenge!    This challenge is kicking off on Monday, June 17th and will run for (4) weeks.  The challenge is open to all Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio & Power Pages) community members. We invite you to participate in a quest to provide solutions to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.    Entry Period: This Challenge will consist of four weekly Entry Periods as follows (each an “Entry Period”)   - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 17, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 23, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 24, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 30, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 1, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 7, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 8, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 14, 2024   Entries will be eligible for the Entry Period in which they are received and will not carryover to subsequent weekly entry periods.  You must enter into each weekly Entry Period separately.   How to Enter: We invite you to participate in a quest to provide "Accepted Solutions" to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.
