Need help using filter array

Hello!

I'm currently creating a flow from excel to Microsoft planner using a table in excel. The only problem, is that in my table I either have a number (0) or a name of a patient. I am clearly doing something wrong with my formula, as I only want the cells that aren't equal to 0 to be transferred to the planner, yet as of this moment, everything is being transferred.

Hi @Medes ,

 

Because the column will store a either a number (0) or text (name), Excel will store everything as text. In that case, the filter query should filter out cells that aren't equal to the string "0" and not the number 0. Try the following:

During testing I also saw the same error. I think it is a bug in the new Editor.

 

Try:

 

(1) Clear the Apply to Each parameter:

The add the Body of the Filter Array action. When you hover-over the body, it should read body('Filter_array').

I figured it out, I just had to use item()?['Nom du patient'] on the title for it to work.

Hi @Medes ,

 

Because the column will store a either a number (0) or text (name), Excel will store everything as text. In that case, the filter query should filter out cells that aren't equal to the string "0" and not the number 0. Try the following:

When looking at the inputs/outputs of the filter, it does seem to be working, although it does not work with my flow... I'm quite lost with what do to, here is a picture of my flow and the error message it is showing

Hey @ekarim2020, just a quick question concerning the "create a task", what do I put in for the Title? Is it also Body('Filter_array') ? I am getting an error that i wasn't getting before which is telling me my string is too long, although I haven't made my table bigger in excel...

I don't remember how, but last time it was returning the patients name from the excel table (like I wanted) but now its returning the full code, which is why the string is so long. So my question would be what formula am I supposed to use to get only the patient's name in the Title of "Create a task"

 

Here it is:

Your title text is too long.  It is 848 characters, but the task Title cannot be more than 255 characters:

You could truncate the title to 255 characters using the slice function, for example:  slice(variables('varTitle'), 0, 255)

 

Please share some sample data in JSON format from the Filter array action so we can see the property names.

What I've noticed though, is if I only try with one patient, it works no problem to add a title, but instead of actually putting the patient name ("Nom du patient"), its returning the whole code.

Summer of Solutions | Week 4 Results | Winners will be posted on July 24th

We are excited to announce the Summer of Solutions Challenge!    This challenge is kicking off on Monday, June 17th and will run for (4) weeks.  The challenge is open to all Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio & Power Pages) community members. We invite you to participate in a quest to provide solutions to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.    Entry Period: This Challenge will consist of four weekly Entry Periods as follows (each an “Entry Period”)   - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 17, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 23, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 24, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 30, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 1, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 7, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 8, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 14, 2024   Entries will be eligible for the Entry Period in which they are received and will not carryover to subsequent weekly entry periods.  You must enter into each weekly Entry Period separately.   How to Enter: We invite you to participate in a quest to provide "Accepted Solutions" to as many questions as you can.
