Recurring tasks to SharePoint

Hello,

We are looking to evidence that a series of tasks have been done on a recurring basis in a financial firm where the senior managers need to show that tasks and checks have been done (we need a record).

If we were not looking at recurring tasks, I would use a SharePoint task list, which had a few extra columns (team and role etc), and then use alerts (we are really trying to reduce emails so may not use alerts).  The task list would have versioning set and I might fine tune permissions to stop deletion.  At the end of a year we get evidence that tasks have been done, as well as a list with what is due and when.

I see that we could use a trigger list, (holds monthly tasks in a custom list format, and these could be put into a flow which is run each month and handles the recurrence.  The flow would run on the 1st of each month.

Ive done some PoC testing, and am stumbling on the due date. In the trigger list, I have a number column [DayOfMonth] that indicates on which day of the month the task would be due.  

This is causing me some grief and have tried adddays(utcnow(), xxx) and can make this add xxx fixed days but cant get the variable xxx from my trigger list.  Might be I am using the incorrect expression?

Is this the best way to get recurring tasks in SharePoint, and if so the best expression to use for due date.

Wow, I would have thought this one would be of interest and I would have had some help by now.

Is there a more suitable sub forum for this question admins ?
