Remarks and feedback on document using approval flow

I've created an approval flow and it's working well, but what I'm missing in the flow is a possibility to add comments on the documents itself. When someone approves a document he/she can add a comment with his answers, but that's not a comment on the document.

To make it more clear: I upload a document on sharepoint, a pdf with several pages, and the approval flow starts automatically. Someone needs to approve this document but he has several remarks/comments on that document. It's not very handy that he needs to add those comments in comment box when approving this documents, but those comments need to be made in the document itself. So what's the best approach to do this?

Second thing: when there are comments added with the approval, what's the best way to collect all comments made by all approvers?

You can ask them to add the comments within the PDF itself.

Each of them will have their own names to the comments.

And then in the Approval comments box they can right a short summary of which page, what change etc.

Regarding the second part of the question:

It will be more of design approach depending on the use case you are developing

You could take the approval outputs and create your own text file, spreadsheet, sharepoint list etc. or even a string of these outputs within the flow itself and process them per the needs of your use case.

One alternative you may want to consider is if you are wanting to collect comments on the PDF while it is in SharePoint and have the comments preserved in the PDF, you could consider using Adobe Acrobat for Microsoft 365. That way, you could route the document for approval. When they click a link to open the document in SharePoint, they can open using the Acrobat Viewer and add comments. Those comments are saved into the PDF. Then you can approve the step in your approval.
