The power flow's logic app flow template was invalid.

This flow was created a year ago, haven't done changes since then yet once i open editor mode it shows this error message on top,

The power flow's logic app flow template was invalid. The 'type' property of template trigger 'manual' at line '1' and column '34957' has the value 'Manual' which is deprecated in schema version '2016-04-01-preview' and onwards.

And Flow Checker does not show any error in flow.

Any idea on why & how do i fix it ?

Thanks in advance.

@Anonymous  Try to check which action is throwing this error.
Delete that particular action, and add it again. It could be case that new input field would be required.
Since the schema has been updated, you’ll need to investigate the check the rest of the Flow for any changes you might need to make.

Recommendation would be to delete the trigger and add it again. Thereby, you will start getting some meaningful error message for troubleshooting.

Thanks

It looks like you have a very old trigger in your flow which is not supported anymore.

To fix this you can do the following:

1) Create a new flow with the trigger you want to use in your broken flow. You will also need at least one action (e.g. use a Compose and write something in it) to be able to save the flow.

2) Export the broken and the new flow.

Before you do the next step make sure you keep a BACKUP of the flows.

3) Edit the .json file of the broken flow and overwrite the red marked section with the same section from the new flow

4) Import the fixed flow back in your environment.

I started seeing this issue today as well. Have not changed anything in the flow for a week. When I created it it was fine, no errors. Went back today to edit it and I get this error at the top.

And pasting the Trigger section into a copy of my flow didn't work either. The copy with the updated Trigger section still displays the error.

I don't understand the error text

 The 'type' property of template trigger 'manual' at line '1' and column '177767' has the value 'Manual' which is deprecated in schema version

Looking through the code I can't see a type Manual for the trigger, unless it's referring to "manual" in line 2 here:

"triggers": {
	"manual": {
		"splitOn": "@triggerBody()['rows']",
		"metadata": {
			"operationMetadataId": "xxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxx"
		},
		"type": "Request",
		"kind": "ApiConnection",
		"inputs": {

But that is in the newly inserted trigger module as well.

Hi @InTas ,

For me the issue was with the Switch action so I tried to remove the Switch case and then tried to re-add it and it worked.

In case if you have not used the Switch action then some other action is creating the problem so try to narrow it down by creating a copy of the flow and try to delete one action at a time, save and open it again and check if the error gets disappear or not, if not then repeat the steps again.

Thanks,

Dharam

Hi @Dharam2

I raised a support ticket with MS and the response is:

After consulting with our team, it appears that the problem you raised is one that persists with our service.

However, please be assured that our product team is actively working to resolve it and will address the issue internally. We anticipate that a solution will be implemented soon and made available in the near future.

Hi All

Ran into the same thing today.

@InTas  - I believe you are correct, that the template and therefore schema does have provision for manual, there error message is a red herring.

I believe this is caused when using the trigger, "For Selected Item" and not "For Selected File" in a SharePoint library.  SharePoint libraries and lists, although containing a similar construct i.e. listitem, are not the same.

Hope this helps
