Trying to set up this integration

Hello

I'm having issues setting this up. 

Every day I email myself an email on the tasks to be done for the given day. I receive this email at 7AM every day, which is formatted into a neat HTML table, looks like this:

Esemény = Event, Kezdés = Start Date, Befejezés = End Date, Leirás = Description

What I need Power Automate to do is to integrate the content of this HTML-table into Microsoft To Do in a way that first the HTML will be converted into plain text, and each Event - Start Date - End Date - Description will be 1 separate entry under "Daily Tasks" in Microsoft To Do. So basically the HTML table will be "stripped". I only need plain text this time.

Took some time- learned something new !

You can try like this below.

Assume the email sending HTML table like below

Steps

1. Use trigger to trigger the process when email is received in mailbox.
   

   
   Note- use appropriate subject filter so to take the required email 🙂 (I am using outlook here, so used this trigger)

2. use compose action to get the table from the email and convert it to xml for future usage.
   

   Expression - 

   xml(concat(split(substring(triggerOutputs()?['body/body'],indexOf(triggerOutputs()?['body/body'],'<table')),'</table')?[0],'</table>'))
   
   
3. Use another compose function which helps to find the number of rows present in table (excluding header)
   

   Expression - 

   sub(length(split(triggerOutputs()?['body/body'],'<tr')),2)
4. Use select action which helps to convert table rows of event data into JSON array data 
   
   

   Expression - 

   xpath(outputs('Compose'),'//table/tbody/tr[1]/td[1]/div/text()')?[0]
   

   Expression - 

   xpath(outputs('Compose'),'//table/tbody/tr[1]/td[2]/div/text()')?[0]
   

   Expression - 

   xpath(outputs('Compose'),'//table/tbody/tr[1]/td[3]/div/text()')?[0]

   

   Expression - 

   xpath(outputs('Compose'),'//table/tbody/tr[1]/td[4]/div/text()')?[0]

   

   Expression - 

   xpath(outputs('Compose'),concat('//table/tbody/tr[',item(),']/td[1]/div/text()'))?[0]

   

   Expression - 

   xpath(outputs('Compose'),concat('//table/tbody/tr[',item(),']/td[2]/div/text()'))?[0]

   

   Expression -

   xpath(outputs('Compose'),concat('//table/tbody/tr[',item(),']/td[3]/div/text()'))?[0]

   

   Expression - 

   xpath(outputs('Compose'),concat('//table/tbody/tr[',item(),']/td[4]/div/text()'))?[0]

   See how result look like 

   

   Now you can loop through each and create a task in to do.

It may change based on HTML structure of your table design in email. Could you tell me what error u are getting ?

Hi @Studynx 

That happended due to action names, in my case one of compose action was having name - Compose 3, while may in your case, it would be other name (like Compose 2 etc), so for easy resolution, change the Action name to compose 3 (exactly like my flow) and see the result
