Hello,
I was wondering if someone could review my flow and recommend the best process in order to avoid infinite loop caused by When an item is created or modified.
I am trying to avoid using the Trigger Conditions @not(equals(triggerOutputs()?['body/Editor/Email'], 'email@email.com')) in the Settings for When an item is created/modified because I need to do testing with my List and was hoping I could avoid the loops with the Or Condition.
This flow was created in order to populate a Single Line of Text Column with the DisplayName from a Person/Group column, so I could have that info displayed in a calendar view.
I'm pretty sure there are 3 conditions that should cause the flow to run.
The Conditional Check I thought would stop the infinite loop are

@as733y It will work as those conditions are not dependent on trigger. Do one thing, Use one compose and pass Person A email id dynamic content in your compose then pass this compose output in Driver Assigned field. And you do not need condition block in this case.
Steps-
1. Trigger
2. Compose
3. Update action
That's all for your flow.
Note: for display name use one more compose and pass that output in update action single text column

@as733y You need to create one multiline text column (Name:StopRun) with append changes to existing text feature.
In trigger condition: use this- @equals(triggerOutputs()?['body/StopRun'], null)
and in Update action- add NoRun in StopRun column.
Later hide StopRun column from SP List.

Hi @Hardesh15,
and in Update action- add NoRun in StopRun column. // I don't understand this part, can you please explain more?
Also, with the @equals(triggerOutputs()?['body/StopRun'], null) Trigger Condition, do I delete the Conditional portion I had before? Or is that Condition still correct?
@as733y you can remove your trigger condition and later in flow you can use condition blcok for email check.
Yes in update action once you create column you will see that column in update action then simply type NoRun so that stopRun column value will not be empty and flow will not trigger again automatically.

Thank you @Hardesh15
Is the below screenshots correct? I'm testing the list now to see if all my scenarios will work.
It seems like the only scenario that doesn't work is when Person Field that is populated with Person A is removed and Person Field is blank, so the Single Line Text needs to be blank.

I really appreciate your time and help @Hardesh15 . Is the below correct?
The flow still doesn't seem to work if I remove someone from the people/group column (Driver Assigned), which should remove the name from the single line text column (cDriver Assigned)?
@as733y why you actions inside loop? Check your person field in SharePoint list. Is that multi select person field?
Remove apply to each and make flow structure as I have given.

When I Select Driver Assigned DisplayName, it automatically changes to apply to each?
Yes, It is a multi select person field.
@as733y if not required make it single person and then try it.

@as733y I would suggest you make seperate column for driver 2. It will be easy for you otherwise logic will be complex.

I think that worked!!!!! Thank you. Thank you!!!
I will test some more scenarios, but I believe this is working!
This solution will totally disable the flow from running on that record again. What if users modified that record again and need the flow to automatically update other information of that record again. Any suggestion ?
Sorry my bad. It is working. Thanks.
